Has anyone been to Las Vegas?

I went there but had to go to an emergency care clinic for fever over 102.

If you are allergic to cigarette smoke you won't like it too much. Even on the sidewalk outside I was choking. I liked San Francisco better than any trip in my life. Vegas just isn't my thing I guess. But I'm glad I did get to go there one time.

Couldn't agree more!

Las Vegas is fun. I've been there many times. Lots to see and do and EAT, and you don't have to like gambling. When I'm there, I gamble a bit, but I also like to walk around to the different hotels. Lots of choices for food. You can eat at buffets OR restraurants. I tend to stick with restaurants since I am not a big eater. Can be pricey though. I also like going to see the different shows at the hotels. Tickets are not always cheap. They run about $50 up to $150/piece. I like Cirque du Soleil shows and those tickets are always pricey and end up being sold out (so have to purchase in advance).

I've never been there but my parents just got back last week from their second journey there in the past year. And they don't do much gambling at all.

The photos I saw of the city were beautiful and they did a lot of driving in the desert etc.

Looks like an interesting place to visit.

I've been there a few times and don't care for it. It's never been my idea to go. Theres some great outdoorsy things around there that I always look forward to, but that's about it. I don't gamble, hate cigi smoke and constant noise so it's just not for me.

The Hoover Dam is magnificent. I was so sick while I was there and crying, but even so I am thankful I saw it. There was a man dangling his baby over the ledge there, like Michael Jackson did. It made me even sicker when I saw that. Wanted to strangle that man.

Imagine watching a baby hanging over the side of this.

I was there a couple of months ago and loved it. I would definitely go back. It's fun to explore all the casinos, see the shows and sights, eat at the variety of nice restaurants, or just walk the strip. I'm not a gambler or much of a party person but there was a lot to do there. I even took a couple of day trips, outside the city and saw Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon, went horseback riding...And I can't say that I had a problem with cigarette smoke. There were very few instances of it bothering me. Most casions do great jobs at ventilating the areas.

there is a lot to do even if you don't gamble. shopping, some rides & attractions, laying in the sun by the pool (most hotels have a great pools with bars/restaurants), seeing a show (my fav is cirque dul soleil), definitely hitting the bars or clubs for some partying, umm lots of great places to eat, buffets are a must, freemont st, just walking around from hotel to hotel all day is exciting enough. you always meet interesting and random people! and definitely play a slot machine just for the hell of it. vegas is like a huge fake, copycat city that everyone just must visit once in their life.

Honestly...LV is overrated. Maybe it's just me but LV is not my kind of place. Too crowded, drunk people every where, sure it's a place where people let their inhibitions go but if you've never been, experience it you might just end up liking it. I for one only like cirque du soliel and the food (not buffet's!). Other than that it's meh to me...

It's about a 4 hr drive from where I am from (L.A.) and the last time I was there was last June (work related) but before that it was in July 2005.
