MikeyD
So, tomorrow I'm going to bite the bullet and ask out a girl that I've been talking to for like a month and I really like, but I need some first date ideas. I was thinking about going bowling and getting some dinner afterwards. If not, maybe the usual dinner and a movie. What are some suggestions (don't say the coffee thing, we don't drink coffee) Link to comment
Sn0man
Dinner at a funky restaurant, followed by a trip to the pool hall for some competitive air-hockey! Or, if you're in Canada (where 19 is legal age) go to a lounge for appies and drinks - then air hockey. haha trust me it's fun! Link to comment
havefaith
I might skip bowling for a first date. Maybe it's just me, I guess I just see bowling as like a family or group outing rather than date setting. Might have something to do with the fact that all I can picture are pitchers of beer, cigar smoke and sloppy old men, hahaha. I say dinner at a cool restaurant followed by maybe a walk or something kind of low key? I think on a first date less is more -- better to linger over dinner, leave things on a good note than try to vy for too much face time. Link to comment
ghost69
no movie. can't get to know someone better doing that. you want to interact on your first few dates. Link to comment
EB297
Like Ghost said things like Movies are bad because you are just sitting there and cant talk. Loud bars may be a bad idea as well. It really should all depend on the girl and what you have to do in your area. If shes outgoing and competitive take her some where she can have those qualities come out. Indoor cart racing/Miniature or Real Golfing.....Goal is to make her comfortable with you..... Link to comment
pinkrobot
Movies are fine for first dates as long as the entire date doesn't consist of just watching a movie. Since you were thinking dinner and a movie, that would be fine, since dinner would allow you to talk face-to-face. You don't have to be super creative with a first date...first dates are pretty much designed for you to get to know each other better and determine if there's chemistry/compatability. So as long as you're doing something that allows for conversation...you should be set. Link to comment
ghost69
^^^^kind of backwards about the movie then. i vote for activities that involve more interaction than sharing popcorn. sure the dinner is great, but sometimes it's not enough. Link to comment
Ghettafab
Look at a date in a more casual sense What would you be doing, especially with this person, if this was not a date? Link to comment
