Qut81
I am having a hard time deciding whether I should continue working both jobs and take summer classes. As most of you know, I am starting to get burnt out, however, I only have 10 classes left to finish my Broadcasting degree (AA). If I take summer school I could finish by next Fall, the latest(I take 2 classes at a time, next fall I am going to take 3). However, my car has been acting up and I need a new car. I also want to buy a townhome next year. My plan was to take the summer off from school and work my FT and PT job in order to save money for my car, then for my townhouse. I do need a little break, however, I am willing to do what it takes to get to where I need to be. What should I do? Take summer classes or save money? Link to comment
purpleduckie
you mention that you're starting to feel a little burned out. i've been burned out before and yet still went on and did summer school. it was a big waste of money. i dropped half of my load and failed 1. it also went on to affect the semester after that. i would take a break and make money in the mean time. summers are there for a reason. learning is exhausting, the exam stress is very real and very demanding/draining. ghost69
you are taking on a lot in such a short amount of time. i'd finish school before focusing on buying something. Link to comment
Jetta
I'm in college myself, I recommend taking the time off and graduating later. I had planned to take sumer courses myself but have decided a break would do me good. My car just died so I recommend you work the extra time in the summer so you have money for a newer car. If it's acting up it can go at any time. Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but burning out is bad and the break will refresh you. Link to comment

Yea, thats another thing, my student loans dont pay for the summer so I would have to pay for that out of pocket. My Dad usually pays but he didnt offer and I never ask him for money unless its an emergency. Link to comment
waveseer
I always loved summer school (in college). In the summertime it feels like there are more hours in a day (due to more daylight) and your burnout should be somewhat relieved. You can do it, and every class you complete is one less between you and being finished with your degree. I say go for it! Link to comment
