Rose21
Me and my boyfriend have a fantastic relationship of 14 months, he and i would never even CONSIDER or THINK about cheating on one another. But that's besides the point, I'm trying to figure out my dreams here. I hear that dreams are the opposite of reality...But lately I've been having some extremly VIVID, off the wall dreams. One of which occurred a few nights ago where I cheated on my boyfriend with my ex. (I've had a few dreams wear I cheat on my boyfriend, and alot of cases it;'s someone I was with a long time ago whom I never even talk to or think about!) When I wake up, I think about the dream and am sickened by the thought. I could NEVER do that to him! Yet the weird part of the dream, was I cheated on him with my DEAD ex. And then I KILLED my ex (whio is already dead) In the dream! What is UP with that? Link to comment
Rose21
But WHY are they so weird? I don't understand... I went through a stage where I would have dreams of all of my loved one's dying. And then a dream I had previously, I was on this beautiful island and I was fighting with these people who were trying to bomb it. I was trying to talk this lady out of it. The bombs were in the form of regular "eggs" yes, the kind you eat. So me and this random guy were running to get them as far away as possible, as I had them cluthed in an oversized hoody. We kept trying to go to the end of the plantation away from people so we could let the bombs off in safety. And then these CIA like guys in suits were chasing us. I can never fly in my dreams, but I do like a float jump. I will jump about 60 feet into the ear, and do like a sprint lunge and then kind of gently float back down. And i would do this with every stride, very weird.... We were followed by all of these crazy animals (hybrids) and I was being scoled by this old lady for picking the GIANT flowers in her yard. * * * ? Am I having an acid trip while dreaming?? Part of my problem is, (I should prob get this checked out) is I NEVER can get to Stage 4 sleep, the deepest sleep. I always make my way to REM sleep, and STAY there. ALL night. So at night ,when I'm trying to sleep, my brain is just as active as it is during the day, and I'm CONSTANTLY dreaming all night. That's it... Very weird... Link to comment
FloatingAnchor
Was your ex the one who broke things off? Maybe you wanted to get back at him and that's why you killed him. Very strange dream, but means nothing. I've killed people in my dreams, if that makes you feel any better. Link to comment
havefaith
Typically dreams are the inner workings of your subconscious. That sounds like a nightmare, and nightmares are typically rooted in anxiety. Maybe cheating is just a fear for you, it's something that makes you feel uneasy. It's a thought you don't let yourself process during the day, so it pops up in your dreams. Maybe you still harbor some anxiety over the death of your ex (thus you killing him). My boyfriend often has dreams of him perpetually doing things to make me angry/upset. He hasn't admitted it but he's hard on himself as a rule and I think he's afraid of messing up. So maybe deep down you just have worries about cheating. A lot of your other posts make it clear that cheating is an idea that TERRIFIES you. I think it's just being reflected in your subconscious. I have dreams of my brother dying, going to prison, upsetting my family because he has serious drug problems. This is my #1 fear in life. It makes sense. Link to comment
Rose21
Well yes, he was the one that broke things off, but keep in mind we were only together for about 3 months. I hadn't even seen him in over a year, or talked to him in about 7 months. The last memory I have of him was me blocking him from my phone because he was harrasing me and my boyfriend. I harbored no feelings for him whatsoever, not even hate. I was just indifferent. This started however, after I found out he had died. This was a few months ago. Link to comment
dragon lady
Take a look at a dream dictionary. My favorite is: link removed Dreams should never be taken literally. You might just have a lot on your mind at the moment. I know I've had a bunch of extremely disturbing dreams about things like incest and there is no way in hell I would even consider it in real life. Link to comment
Rose21
My number 1 fears are not being good enough or being cheated on, or cheating. Even though I know it is physically impossible for me to do so with my boyfriend because I love him so much, and it just isn't in my personality/morals/or ethics. I wouldn't ever be able to kiss him or look at him the same way without being horribly wrought with guilt. And I know he would never cheat on me either because he loves me more then anything and has the same kind of morals/ethics as I do. But for some reason I have a SEVERE fear of being cheated on or abandoned. I've dated 15 guys, 2 serious, some of these REAL dirt bags and NONE of those guys had cheated on me. So it wouldn't make sense that I would be so worried considering I don't have a past with it or anything. It's not just my boyfriend I fear will leave me. It's my friends too. Ugh, what's wrong with me? Link to comment
Rose21
To dream that you are cheating on your spouse, mate, fianc, or significant other, suggests feelings of self-guilt and self-betrayal. You may have compromised your beliefs or integrity and/or wasting your energy and time on fruitless endeavors. Alternatively, it reflects the intensity of your sexual passion and exploring areas of your sexuality. It is actually a reaffirmation of your commitment. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for people approaching a wedding to have dreams about erotic experiences with partners other than their intended spouses. Most likely, such dreams represent the newness of your sexual passion. It may also signify anxieties of changing your identity - that of a spouse. Link to comment
Lamour detruit
I wouldn't worry about it. It is just your subconcious battling the very things you are anxious about. The dreams do not represent any desires or feelings, however they merely show just how much you worry about being good enough and such in a different way. Link to comment
Rose21
Floating To dream that you are floating on air, indicates your contentment and acceptance of some situation. You are letting go of your problems or worries and just going with the flow. As a result, you are experiencing new-found freedom. You will rise above your obstacles that may presently seem overwhelming. Alternatively, it suggests that you wandering through life aimlessly with no goals. To dream that you are floating in water, suggests that you have a handle on your emotions. To dream that you are floating, but are afraid to move, suggests that you are questioning your own abilities. You are experiencing doubts in yourself. (I always do this in my dreams, I can never actually take full flight for some reason) Link to comment
Rose21
Dolphins To see a dolphin in your dream, symbolizes spiritual guidance, your intellect, mental attributes and emotional trust. Utilize your mind to its capacity and you will move upward in life. Alternatively, it suggests that a line of communication has been established between the conscious and unconscious aspects of yourself. Dolphins represent your willingness and ability to explore and navigate through your emotions. To dream that you are riding a dolphin, represents your optimism and social altruism (I had a dream about kissing and riding a dolphin the other night...) Link to comment
PsychGirly
I think this stems from your overanalytical personality. You always overthink everything (no offense), & lately (from your threads), you've been stressing over the whole "cheating" issue, so those subconscious thoughts are playing out in your dreams. Just ignore them, & stop thinking so much! =] Link to comment
dragon lady
Do you think any of those apply to you Rose? I usually find they do in at least some roundabout way. Link to comment
Rose21
Yes I do. Expecially since one of my best friends in the whole world is having chest problems and is in and out of the ER. I've been TERRIBLY anxious over it, making sure she is okay. Link to comment
Seraphim
Could be about the chick that was playing you against your bf and your mind is still ruminating on it. Link to comment
SapphireNoir10
Dreams are dreams. Sometimes they mean things, sometimes they dont. No point driving yourself crazy trying to analyse them. I still dream about my ex and I hate his guts lol. Link to comment
Rose21
No Victoria, that is over and done with. I haven't even thought about that until you brought it up actually! I don't know what it could be, because I've been having dreams like this before that even happened. They all vary. Last night's dreams was me getting all fresh with my boyfriend and having sex over and over. Ahh that was a good dream Link to comment
laisla
so weird. i had a dream i was with another guy. this is a guy who is my bf's friend from his area. i have always liked his poetry but i'm not attracted to him. i'm convinced reading this thread made me have that deam lol. Link to comment
Rose21
Haha well that is quite possible. Yet for some reason the dream dictionary says, dreaming you are with someone else other then your SO isn't a bad thing. It says you have a large sexual appetite and alot of passion, and it's very common for people who are about to get married to have dreams like that, and it's actually a good thing. However, having a dream that your SO is cheating on YOU shows that you are insecure with yourself and the relationship etc. Link to comment
Seraphim
Dreams are the brain's way of sorting out things it needs to sort out and store information etc. If we did not dream we would go insane. The sub conscious deals with the dreams and figuring out of some info, it often makes NO sense to the conscious mind. Link to comment

Rose21
Except I haven't been having dreams about that. I've been dreaming that IM doing the cheating. Which is apparently a good thing? Link to comment
caro33
Let's ask ourselves: what is the chance that some dream dictionary, or any apparently objective definition of one's own dreams has any explanatory power? Your dreams are your own, the nature and intensity will come down to all sorts of things, including your temperature, what you ate, what medications you are on etc. Your own symbolism will be your own, and will depend on what you experience. Your dreams are your mind's way of managing your brain's processing of the day. The dreams are going to incorporate anything and everything that makes you who you are and will depend on what you have seen and perceived. I doubt that your dreams mean anything at all except that cheating is an issue for you, as it is for most of us. I would not worry about what this "means" as whatever caused the dreams will be within you, and may be literal, symbolic, major, minor, who knows. Link to comment
