Greeting all, this is gonna be my first post after browsing for many months

 

The lyrics from The Smiths - Big Mouth Strikes Again pritty much sums my humor up

 

"Sweetness, sweetness I was only joking

When I said I'd like to smash every tooth

I seem to have this dead pan delivery sense of humour which seem to get me on the wrong side of people who don't know me very well. I'm not the loudest card in the deck so some of the things I say come accross as weird and even verging on creepy were as people around me get "away" with worse mabye this is where the problem lie?

 

Sometime I can even hear my self saying thing when my brain is telling me to shut up, this isn't a good luck when going for job interviews. On a few occations I feel myself getting out of hand with what I'm saying and can sense an argument though lucky I have manage to stop myself.

 

My question is while I like my sense of humor I don't want it to get me into bother with new people, what can I do?

I think you re-approach your situation as if it were someone else. When it comes to new people, what's the best way to get to know them? By asking them questions about their likes such as hobbies and connect a common interest to them. Be subtle with your humor or leave it out altogether until you get to know them a bit more.

 

During your job interviews, leave your comical skills at home. Act like you're running for president and perform well but be careful with your jokes.
