Atticus90
Well, I was going to wash my hands and all of a sudden, my heart starting to beat ( to where I can feel it ) and it felt like I was going to pass out. I don't know how to explain it, but my vision was blurry. Imagine the worst vision on the planet but not blind. It was like everything was going white until I caught myself and was able to control it.. And my head got very hot. It lasted for maybe 10 secs. I talked to my dad about it and he said I had an anxiety attack. I think that may have been what it was because I have been getting real worried about my heart since it's always within the 90 - 105 BPM range and that it may have triggered a anxiety attack. What does this sound like? Sounds like a anxiety attack to me cause I started obsessing about it today for the first time and.. this happened.. I think I'm going to make an appointment to a cardiologist on monday.. Link to comment
Seraphim
I have a naturally fast beat as well. What you could have had was palpatations. To talk to a cardiologist you will need a referral from a GP. Start there. Link to comment
Hope75
60-100 BPM is a normal heartbeat for an adult. You will need a referral from your PCP before you can make an appointment with a cardiologist. Sounds like it's probably anxiety- I would mention that to your PCP when you make the appt. Link to comment
Atticus90
What's a PCP and a GP? Link to comment
Hope75
PCP= primary care physician GP= general practitioner (same as PCP) Link to comment
Seraphim
Primary Care Physician or General Pracitioner.........the same thing. You need to talk to your Reg dr before you see a cardiologist. No specialist will see you without a referral. Link to comment
Atticus90
PCP= primary care physician GP= general practitioner (same as PCP) Thanks. so 105 heartrate isn't bad? I was always told anything over 100 was called Tachycardia. I have high blood preasure as well. Link to comment
Seraphim
Are you getting enough exercise and eating the right foods? Link to comment
Atticus90
Are you getting enough exercise and eating the right foods? no. a very sedentary(sp) lifestyle.. almost to the point where i dont do anything. don't eat healthy. overweight.. my new job doesn't really require a lot of physical work Link to comment
Seraphim
You should go to your dr and ask to see a nutritionist and you REALLY need to get out there and do something even if it is just walking. If you have these issues at 18, you are going to have SERIOUS issues later on. You have a new baby, right? Do something about your health now.....you want to see him grow up, yes? Link to comment
ellandroader
Victoria66 is right....you need to address your health, especially if at this age, you are encountering these problems. I have had panic attacks for years, due to Social Phobia/Anxiety and exercise, dietary habits are just two things that have helped to repel them. What you had sounded very much like an anxiety attack. Don't let happen to you what happened to me - you pass out and end up en route to hospital. Get it looked at, all the best. Link to comment

ellandroader
Yes, that's what I'm going to do. Never imagined having all these problems at my age. Neither did I, and you know what, it might not even be all your fault. I was about that age when life got a little more pressured, and my "dormant" anxiety raised to the roof. I knew I was shy and awkward, but I have a chemical imbalance which is just one of those things. Not a lot you can do about that other than be treated and change your diet/exercise. The great thing at 18 is that you have PLENTY of time and energy to change yourself and stop it from being a regular thing. Link to comment

I eat one big meal a day most of the time ( no time for breakfast or lunch ). Not much excersise heart rate over 100 high blood presure probably high cholesterol Link to comment
Seraphim
Also too as a parent YOU will teach your CHILD these bad habits that will endanger his life. Kids copy everything a parent does. They see what you eat and do and they WILL copy you I can PROMISE you that. If is for his sake as well that you do this. You learn good habits and he will too. Link to comment
CallingAllAngels
I think you had an axiety attack. Link to comment
Alezia
What? over 100bpm is bad? or you mean a resting rate of 100bpm? I usually reach way over that at the gym o_O!? Link to comment

I have high blood preasure as well. 105 is slightly high, but not terrible. You said typically between 90-105 though, and 90-100 is still within the normal range, and for some, so is 105. What's your blood pressure typically? Link to comment
karvala
I'm going to be a bit more harsh. A resting heart rate of 90-105 bpm, high blood pressure, and being overweight, in an 18-year old, are a classic recipe for major health problems later on and an early death, most likely from cardiac problems. I would strongly urge you to make the lifestyle changes now, while you can, before you do irreparable damage to your health. You can do it, for the sake of yourself and your child. Link to comment
Seraphim
Yes, that is very distressing at 18. Get well for yourself and your son. Link to comment

Atticus90
I'm not sure exactly what my blood preasure is, but when I go to CVS I use those bloodpreasure machine and it's wayy above the normal mark. Lets just say it isn't good lol. Not extremely high, but certainly not normal. Link to comment
Seraphim
The thing is your blood pressure will be different at different times of the day, whether you are sick, in pain ect. Make an appointment with your dr and avoid all the damage you could be doing to your body and health and future. Link to comment
