forever1130
I was playing indoor soccer last week and I got slammed into the wall and my wrist has been hurting ever since. It was kinda swollen the first few days but hurt really bad. I didnt go to the doctor or anything cause I figured it was probably just bruised and would get better. Well here I am a week later and it's still hurting. I can move it, so i dont think it's broken. but i cant lift anything heavy with that hand, twist my wrist, or move it in certain directions. Ive managed to get through school the past few days, but taking notes and writing has definitely become a challenge. I don't want to look like a wimp if I go to the doctor and find out there is absolutely nothing wrong it lol I've played sports my whole life so I'm used to injuries but Ive never broken a bone or anything like that so idk whats wrong me with? Vince99
No way to know without an xray. Or at least letting a doctor feel it. Link to comment
Seraphim
Breaks are ususally marked by significant bruising and swelling and distortion. It could be a sprain and it could be a break, some sprains are worse than a break, go to the dr. Link to comment
Cognitive_Canine
Sounds like it is broken. When I broke my arm in multiple places, I could still move it well enough. It could also be a hairline fracture (when the bone isn't broken but splitting) which will cause you extreme problems or pain later on if you do not fix it now. Link to comment

BellaDonna
You probably have a small hairline fracture (if it were anything more severe you'd likely be swollen very badly). You really should go get an x-ray because if it is fractured you will probably have to wear removable brace for a little while so it heals properly and has the right support. You best bet is an urgent care walk-in clinic- if you have one in your area. Link to comment

Lamprey
Chances are it is broken. When I was a kid (15 or 16, so technically an adolescent) I used to think guys shouldn't be babies and freak out just because something hurts. Long story short, I was in a fight and broke a knuckle, but didn't say anything because, well, MEN aren't bothered by pain! By the time my dad noticed & took me to see a doctor a week later, the bone had already started to grow together so the doc basically put a cast on and that was it. Now the knuckle is recessed since it was never set properly, and the finger doesn't bend back as far as its equivalent on the other hand. Not a big deal and makes for a cool conversation piece sometimes, but it goes to show that broken bones shouldn't be ignored Link to comment
forever1130
The only thing I'm worried about is looking like a complete moron if I go in there and it turns out its not broken or anything. Is it normal to still be able to do stuff if it really is broken? Such as writing or moving my hand? Link to comment

There was little indication (other than the snap I heard) that it was broken. It didn't hurt and it worked just fine but with limited movement. Link to comment
ellandroader
I broke mine scoring a goal many years back...haha. I fractured the scaphoid bone which enables the blood to flow into your hand. Was in plaster for six months. Those symptons sound a lot like mine....go get it looked at. Link to comment
