Getting fustrated over a situation with taking care of family animal....Advice!

My dad left to San Deigo yestarday with his wife (my step mom) and my younger brother. Well, they have a small dog which they couldn't take with them so they needed someone to watch her while they are gone until Friday. I am currently renting a room from my aunt who is my dad's sister. I am hardly there as it is during the week. I am pretty much gone from 7:30 in the morning until about 8:30 or 9 at night. So, when I'm there I am up for about a total of 2 to 3 hrs and then go to bed.

Anyways, my dad asked me if I could watch their dog while they are gone. He did mention to me that he talked to his sister (my aunt) about having the dog over. She said that it was fine and it shouldn't be a problem. He suppose to pay me to watch their dog for them. But, I don't feel that I shouldn't be given money because in the big picture my aunt is really taking care of the dog more so then me. I just don't know why he didn't ask her in the 1st place then me. He basically knows that I am hardly there as it is.

So, I talked to my aunt about her taking the money more so then me because she is really taking more care of the dog. I love animals and all it's just I really don't have the time to take care of the dog at this moment in time. She refuses to take the money because she says I need the money more then she does. What should I do? Should I just give the money to her anyways?

The situation isn't a big deal or anything. But, I just don't understand why she won't take the money because she is the one who is doing the majority of the work then me. I am only taking care of the dog when I am basically there before I go to bed. I just feel that I am fustrated over something that isn't a huge problem. I just feel that they had asked the wrong person to watch her.
