I know some people spend once or twice a week together while others see each other everday. I wanted to ask everyone on ENA, how often (in a week) do you see your significant other? I mean, is it bad if people only spend once or twice a week together or is that normal? Link to comment

If both are working adults who perhaps have children or other committments, once or twice a week sounds about right. However, if the couple is a pair of college kids that live down the dorm, they might see each other all the time. As long as you are on the same page as a couple, any amount of time you both set seems healthy. Do you feel like you are not seeing each other enough? When I'm not in an LDR, I see my bf about everyday over short breaks and 5 out of 7 days on summer breaks. Link to comment

I mean, is it bad if people only spend once or twice a week together or is that normal? if it's while dating, fine. or while people live apart and are in school or for other reasons. eventually, a couple should live together. anything before that, i think it does not matter how often they see each other as long as it's reasonable. some people have long distance relationships and see each other only once a month until they get to live together or get married. no problem with that. Some of my friends spend about 5 or 6 days with one another (were all in college, btw) and we usually see each other 2-3 times a week, sometimes once or twice a week. My boyfriend seems to be more of the independent type which is fine but sometimes I get insecure and think maybe he doesn't like me as much. I just wanted to see if this is usual for most people and i'm just making a big deal out of nothing. maybe? Link to comment

I work in a different city and I come home to late to see him, so I can only see him on the weekends and on Friday. When we were both in college though, and we had winter and summer break, we would see each other practically everyday or 6-5 times a week. Link to comment

If he's fully engaged during your time together, you shouldn't worry about his not liking you. How long have you been together? Link to comment

Usually when were not seeing each other, he's at the library in between classes and at nighttime he likes to hang with his guy friends or just relax at home. Usually on weekends, one night he'll spend it with me and the next with his friends. And sometimes he'll surprise me during the week and call me up for lunch or an early breakfast which is nice. And summer time, its pretty much the same. Does that sound normal to you guys? Link to comment

I would require more time with him personally, esp if you have been together for awhile. How about joining him with his buddies next time? Or seeing each other at night (sleeping over) during the week. Link to comment

I have a friend who thinks it's too "dependent" to spend more than a couple nights a week with his girlfriend, and he's disgusted by the idea. But my boyfriend and I hang out an average of 5-6 nights a week...the only time we don't really hang out is if he's working a late shift at work. So it totally depends! I could NEVER be in a relationship in which the guy did not want to hang out with me fairly often, I wouldn't feel important to him if that was the case. Link to comment
