natural
Hi Everyone! I am attemtping to get a bikini body by June and have to lose about 20 lbs to do so. Ha! I was wondering if any of you know of any effective diet plans that are somewhat strict and will kick my butt into gear. I already work out about 4 times a week. I go to Turbo Kick Boxing and spinning classes. When I am not in classes, I work out on the eliptical machine about 45 mins a day. Any ideas/suggestions? Link to comment
Lush
Fish and flax oil help a great deal also. Sounds weird to be downing fats but they have helped me pretty much eat whatever I want and stay the same/lose weight. Link to comment
natural
Thanks Dubb! Have you used it? If so, did you see really good results? Or, have you just heard that it is effective? Link to comment
Striker17
The only diet that works: go to link removed and sign up. Answer a few questions and it'll tell you how many Calories a day you are allowed to eat. Then use the site to figure out how many Calories there are in all the foods you actually eat. As long as you don't exceed the number allowed, you'll lose weight. Every other working diet is just a variation of that. Sometimes they'll tell you to cut out specific high-calorie foods, but it doesn't really matter which foods you cut out, as long as you cut out enough calories. Ie: not eating 500 calories worth of carbs is the same as not eating 500 calories worth of protein. Link to comment
natural
Lush - I will definitely look into those. i have heard about them before. But I definitely need a serious plan to help me with my terrible eating habits. Lol. I want to lose 20 lbs. So, I need something that is pretty effective. I also like plans that are a little strict. I tend to stick them better. Link to comment

Lush
South Beach is delicious. It is still a diet so there are rules, if that's what you need. But basically fiber and protein is the way to go. If you want to get all extreme you could look into ketosis: link removed Link to comment
natural
Lush - Wow, the whole ketosis thing sounds like it for serious body builders. Lol. Have you tried it before? Link to comment
Lush
Yes I have tried it before, only for a few days, I like bread too much. It is pretty hard to do. Basically meat and cheese and under 10 carbs a day of veggies. Verrrry little fiber so... Yeah, it's kind of for when you're getting desperate or if you're just hardcore. Link to comment
natural
At the risk of sounding completey stupid, I have to ask you a question. It said something on thewebsite about eating 20% more than your body weight??? I dont think that Iread that right. Lol. Do you have insight into this? What was your typical meal plan when you were on it? Link to comment

Rickey
Almost any substantial activity practiced thirty to forty-five minutes per day is beneficial to health but provides little or no contribution to fitness progress. The reason is that the activity level itself remains too low. Although low-intensity exercises are beneficial enough to merely avoid sickness, they fail to reach the metabolic goal necessary to remove unwanted fat. Link to comment
locksmith001
I agree...discussion needs constant re-evaluation as they grow. Thanks again for the great post! Link to comment
Snny
I already work out about 4 times a week. I go to Turbo Kick Boxing and spinning classes. When I am not in classes, I work out on the eliptical machine about 45 mins a day. Any ideas/suggestions? Change your workout if you want faster results. All you're doing is cardio workouts, and the problem is that cardio may slim a bit, but it does not tone to get a defined bikini body. I find dropping pounds to be very unrealistic, especially if you are working out 4x a week because you build muscle weight and it causes a lot of people to freak out at first. Scales do not measure your body fat percentage or muscle weight accurately. What you need to look for is the amount of inches you lose around your stomach and hips. Also, reevaluate your fitness goals. For a bikini body, are you only focusing on abs? Thighs? What about the love handles or the "flabby arms?" If you do Core weight lifting you tone more than 2 muscle groups. If your workout only focus on certain areas, the fat in your body will literally shift to the parts that are not being focused (which actually happened to me). I strongly recommend counting your calories and your daily workout habits to match your needs. Calorie counting has worked a lot for me and it is a very natural "diet." Link to comment
Snny
I should clarify: According to the American Heart Association the ideal cardio exercise should be 2 hours per week. For strength training, 2-3 days and no more than 30 minutes per day. This website I recently found has beginner, intermediate, and advanced workout plans that focus on core muscles and either include gym equipment or floor workouts (and they show you how to do it). link removed Link to comment
Thorshammer
I agree with the above poster, you need more than cardio if you want a good physique. You can notice how most people who are genetically average have slim bodies but still have fat around their waist, thighs, and under their arms, this is usually due to the fact that cardio burns muscle, water and fat and does nothing for the development of the muscle. Cardio burns over-all fat, which you can not choose. Strength training builds the muscle (tones it), so when the fat is burned, you have a nicely shaped muscle. Also, strength-training changes your metabolic system, which promotes fat-burning even when you arent working out. This should be taken advantage of along with cardio (though I avoid cardio, i actually do a high volume intense weight training program that burns a good chunk of fat). Link to comment
Voguester
I'm starting my weightloss idet tomorrow. I will do over an hour of walking per day and interval cardio training twice a week. I am hopefully going to be able to give up chocolate which is my biggest weakness and always hinders my losing weight. Link to comment
