phishermanjohn
Go to the bar, have drinks, meet new people, flirt, maybe pick-up some strange. Re-establish what you did before. It makes me feel better, try it. Link to comment
waveseer
Um, what I did before? You mean go to the bar, get trashed, wake up somewhere strange with a stranger and swear never to do it again? No thanks. Link to comment

sunnyv
i totally hear you. we have to have respect for ourselves in order to heal 100%, a random hookup will not make you feel better in the end. it will only make you feel worse and delay any healing. Link to comment

Anon21
Both of my past girlfriends have coincidentally fallen into my lap. I don't really know what to do now, since I don't have a lot of opportunities for coincidence anymore ;/ I've never searched haha. Link to comment

jul-els
There are far worse combinations. There sure are. Like herpes and pregnancy. There's a doozy of a package deal. Link to comment
servedcold
Seems several folks seized up on the "get some strange" comment of OPs, which was not the crux of the very good advice to get out and socialize instead of sitting at home moping after a breakup. Link to comment
jcrisph
I agree with the OP....meet new people, which i think the OP was trying to tell people. Just get out and go for it. Link to comment

Yes, very true. But I could never find it advisable to tell someone to try and mask their pain with booze and sex. It can only turn out disappointing at best. But getting out and socially interacting is far better and more healing than sitting around and wallowing, to be sure. Link to comment
