why does a guy break up with a girl and then try to make her jealous

like if i text just to say hi he tells me he has a girl over for the night. when we were together he used to always say stuff about other girls in front of me. he tells me things i don't ask about. what is his problem?

being a guy myself I think this sounds like a classic case of trying to make yourself seem popular, or at least better than anyone else.

more than anything he's being a * * * * to try and get your attention - thats the only explanation I can find.

I agree with the above poster - he sounds immature. He probably wants you to think that he's wanted... which most probably isn't the case.

I had an ex do this once ... and my theory on it was ... well if you have to take the time to tell me about it ... then you obviously aren't ... classic case of trying to make you jealous = immature.

Why did he break up with you? Maybe he is angry with you and this is how he makes himself feel better. Not that it's very mature, but I could see it as a way to cope with his anger... if that's the case

the funny thing is,im not saying i am better than him or stunning in any way but my friends told me they think i can do so much better than him. that he is nothing special but there is something that draws me to him..does he know that or does he seriously think he is better?we broke up,he went with someone else and now he texts me togo to his house to have sex,like i can just be picked up whenever he wants because he knows i have feelings for him.
