sweetpea345
Hi, I'll be taking my Nursing Boards in a month. I am stressing out and don't feel confident at all!!! This will be my first time taking the exam and I'm freaking out alittle. I don't know what to expect and I feel that my anxiety and nervousness will get in my way. I have been studying and taking practice exams but I still think I'm not quite ready yet. Anyone who has been in my situation or has already taken the NCLEX, please respond. Any advise is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!! Link to comment
Livia
Have you taken the Kaplan NCLEX review class. It helped me a lot, especially their test taking strategies. I was also very nervous before taking the test but it really wasn't that bad. By that point, I've done so many review questions that the material on the test was very familiar. Good luck Link to comment
LAYAAN
link removed I know studying for boards is nerve wrecking. Add to it the pressure of worry, anxiety. Its easy for me to say "don't worry" everything will work out. But in reality, you have to make a conscious effort to do what will kill that anxiety and that is to take action. Set up a study plan. Keep it realistic n achievable. Study hard, study smart. Talk with people on the allnurses board. You will pass. Don't spend precious time worrying, alright? You have only limited time available for studying, I'm assuming you have set up a date to take your exam. If you want to achieve better scores, thats good, but I would focus on passing and getting through first. Thats how most license exams work. One day at-a-time, dear, just focus on getting stuff done for today. Tomorrow whatever needs to be done, we'll look at it at the end of today, alright? You will have plenty of time to worry once you have taken your exam and are waiting to hear the results. You reserve that time for worrying. (actually, I wouldn't worry even then. I would reserve that time for some serious praying) but right now, its time to study and get things done. So do that! Good luck! Link to comment
sweetpea345
I do have the Kaplan review book. The Kaplan courses are just really expensive for my budget. My school is supplying the ATI review online course. I am getting discouraged because my scores on this online course is not the best. I do love the Kaplan book, it teaches me how to critical think, strategies, etc. I'm doing review questions all day, everyday!! I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown I just need to take it one day at a time and just focus. I will check out that website, link removed. Thanks for taking the time to read my post!! LAYAAN
Kaplan is expensive and at times its harder than real boards. Thats my take on it but I'm not a nurse, so ask some other students, what they are doing to pass boards. Link to comment
