It's Too Serious

Is it possible to take a relationship "down a notch?" My relationship has reached a certain point, and while I love him, and I love being in a relationship with him, I feel like things have gotten too serious. Is there a way to move backwards within a relationship?

It's tricky because telling him that you want to take it down a notch may hurt him and cause him to pull away completely.

 

It really depends on what you say, how you say it, and what kind of personality he has.

Be careful that he doesn't mistake it for you wanting to breakup or take a break. Make sure you tell him how much you love him (etc.) but that you just think things are moving a little too fast. If he loves you, he'll understand and slow things down until you are more comfortable with it. It's not like you're asking for something unreasonable, I think you'll be fine as long as you approach it in the right manner.
