Bladder Infection...?

Ugh, so..ALL night I had to get up literally about 6 times to go pee. Didn't think anything of it until this morning when I went pee as soon as I woke up..not to be grossly graffic..but as I was pushing the pee out..my uretha felt like it was about to rip out of my vag and attack something. Haha..it was excruciating! Ever since then..I constantly feel like I have to pee..like not a little bit..like i've held it for hours.

Common sense + working in the medical field...i'm pretty sure it's a bladder infection or a UTI.

BUT - My sister/the devil...is my boss. We have clinic today..ending after 5..The doctors office could've gotten me in at 4:30 but alas I'm not 'allowed to go' so I have to wait until 10:15 in the morning to go to my PCP..I don't want this to evolve into some type of horrible infection.. Is there anything I can do to relieve these symptoms?

I had to stop two times on my 45 minute drive here to pee literally probably a few drops..

If you want to relieve the symptoms, then you can take an OTC drug called AZO. It will relieve your symptoms. Also, it would be wise to drink as much water and cranberry juice as you can get.

BUT bear in mind, these are not cures merely symptom relievers. You still need to get antibiotics.

Also, you cannot take AZO before going to a doctor. Or the test won't work correctly. I'm not sure if it's a 24 hour time frame or less. You may want to look that up.

Take the cranberry pills. The juice has too much sugar, and the kind without it is really icky. Drink water. Like Tangi said, AZO makes pain relief products. never tried them, but give them a shot

my back has been hurting since yesterday [supposedly a symptom, according to the internet.]..and it hurtssss so bad when I pee. Like to the point where I don't even want to bother with it..even though I have the nagging sensation of a ridiculously full bladder.

i think you need to be seen by the doctor right away, who cares what your sis says. you need to be seen.

I'm not afraid of anyone BUT my sister..haha. She has no sympathy..and calling in sick is like asking to have your throat slit.

Even though she's late today cuz' her son had a sore throat..

I can never win.

Sorry for going off-topic or possibly insulting you, but are you sexually active?

The reason I'm asking is because I had those exact symptoms a few weeks into finding out I was pregnant. I had really frequent urination & my bladder felt like it weighed 10 lbs almost all the time, & I'd have back cramps.

Sounds like a kidney infection. Don't mess around with those. GO NOW

Take a pregnancy test just to be sure, unless you've gotten your period after the last time you had sex.

You have symptoms of a UTI AND your back is hurting?

You need to see a doc pronto. An unchecked UTI can turn into a kidney infection, and a kidney infection... well, it can lead to really bad stuff. (Back pain usually means kidney)

UTIs are common, but not something to be ignored.

back pain means that the infection *might* be in your kidneys, which is incredibly dangerous. you NEED to get off the internet, and go straight to the ER, right now, to get tested, and get antibiotics.

not to be alarmist, but this is something that cannot be ignored for another minute.
