paranoiac543 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Hi peoples.. i have a little problem. My friend lauren asked me to go to comic con a few days ago. Comic con is today. She bought the tickets online so all we have to do is pick them up at the ticket booth when we get there. So she bought me a ticket and I told her i'd pay her back when I see her there. It starts at 10am and goes until 5pm. So at 9:30 she texts me like ''i can't go. my sister is in labor''. So i'm like super sad because i've been really excited to go for days and I really don't want to go alone. Then she said she might be able to go in the afternoon. So it's like 1pm or so and she tells me she can't go at all. I have no one else to go with. My brother wants to go but he is totally broke and my other friend is also broke and the ticket prices went up anyways. I just really hate going places alone. Oh and the tickets are non refundable..that's the big problem.. So is this my fault for not wanting to go alone? Am I right to be mad at her just because her sister is in labor? I mean, babies are a big thing.. but couldn't she wait? I don't think she actually wanted to see the baby come out. Should I pay her back for the ticket even though I didn't go? But it is her fault we didn't go. Is it her fault? It's like I totally wasted $30 all because of her. I don't know.. i am so confused.
laisla Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 i think you should pay your ticket...she still spent the money on your ticket and does deserve to get it back even though you didn't go
ErikT Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 You should have asked her if your brother could use her ticket to go with you because you didn't want to go alone! Either way, she bought you the ticket and you need to pay her for it.
ErikT Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 As for her sister being in labor, yes, that is a totally valid reason to blow off a comic convention....

I always have such bad luck with everything
paranoiac543 Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 Let me give you guys some background of lauren. About a year ago she went on vacation for 2 and a half weeks and asked me to take care of her dog. I said yes because i love doggies. but this dog needed attention like all the time and was not house trained so i kept having to pick up poop and and clean stinky pee off of everywhere everyday even though I walked him like 4 times a day. she said she would pay me for taking care of him. when she came to pick it up, all she said was thanks so much and took the doggy and left without paying me.
Mavh25 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 You're friends, friends do stuff for eachother... Fact is, you have the ticket and its your own fault if you don't use it, just cos you don't want to go alone thats your own choice. You still owe her money. EDIT: Is it over and you did'nt go? or still deciding?, can't tell from your post.
