There's alot of safety stuff to know and it just feels kinda weird with a whole ton on weight on your back. I mean, they will give you instruction in the Bahamas but you might enjoy it more if you knew what to expect before hand having done it in the local swimming pool or something.

I work on a cruise ship and am actually based in the caribbean!! It's a beautiful place, absolutely amazing. As for the cruise, expect a lot of very old people. It is like working in an old people's home for me most of the time but it's worth it for the places.

Wow really? LOL..old folks home huh..lol. Thats what my trip to Hawaii was like, years ago.

I LOVE the Caribbean, so I'm stoked! This is a girls trip so I'm sure we'll keep each other company

If you want to do some of the more popular activities (i.e., swim with the dolphins), sign up EARLY. I cannot stress this enough. I missed out on swimming with them because all of the slots filled up almost immediately. If possible, sign up before-hand for some of this stuff.

That being said, I'm SO jealous. The bahamas are amazing.

I'm so weird with trips...I'm excited to go...but I usually don't get REALLY excited until like the week of....

So sign up for excursions early..will do!

And surf- yep I'm going the second week of March...hopefully not too many old timers..nothing against them though!

Parasailing...I don't think I'm afraid of heights...but it seems REALLY far up there!!

That's on the list! I've never snorkeled before...

The way I know it [maybe its just a terminology issue], those are two different disicplines, snorkeling and scuba.

Snorkeling is just swimming along with a pair of goggles and a snorkel needing to be on the surface to breath, really simple, just know how to swim!

Scuba is much more complex involving the tanks, breathing aparatus, etc, hence the weight and the need to a course before hand. I personally have never scuba dived, am about to learn in preparation for my upcoming trips, and would never consider doing any kind of dive without training.

Snorkelling however - just grab a bikini and a mask and go crazy!
