desert_rose26 Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 Hi, I've recently signed up for online fishing. I've gotten some messages from guys. But some are very kind and lengthy (a paragraph or two or three) I mean, I'm not interested and I feel bad for not replying. What do I do?? I feel really mean. They took the time to write me and read my profile...should I write back or just ignore? If I write back what do I say?
Stereohead Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If you feel bad about it, you can reply. You can also consider they might have a “template” that they send to more then just one woman to make it seem like they took the time to write something lengthy and considerate-with just some minor adjustments made to each one. The polite manner would be to explain that you aren’t interested and end it at just that. But there’s really no harm in just ignoring the messages as well.
villie Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 You can email them back and tellthem you have started to corespond with someone else and do not wish to take things further. or just ignore it. your not obligated to reply to them, as its just the first contact.
Mock Chop Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 If you write back saying that you don't think you'd make a good match, be prepared for the potential receipt of a pi$$y reply. Whilst some men are grateful you took the time to write back and say 'thanks but no thanks', others take it as a personal affront and can launch an attack on you. I've noticed that some of these 'long replies' don't actually address anything whatsoever in my profile, which leads me to believe it's a generic thing they send out to everyone. If they mention my profile (generally telling me it's funny and they really enjoyed it), I politely say "thanks, glad you enjoyed it" and move on. I've tried the ignoring thing and some guys are very persistent. Maybe they think I'm just playing hard to get...... If all else fails, there's always the block button
