Going to find out how bad the economy REALLY is..

Hi all. I know the economy sucks right now.So many people getting laid off etc. I wondered if our company were to go under how hard it would be to get

a job. I can say the last few companies that have hired me..hired me on the spot. No second interview or anything required. Maybe it's my field or maybe I give a good interview. Anyway, it would be interesting to see if I went out on a job search..even though I don't NEED another job right now, if I would be able to find one. Maybe it's good to put my feelers out there and see what's going on. I know when someone already HAS a job they are less desperate, and maybe it comes accross as confidence. Tomorrow is my day off and I am going to go around and speak to some potential employers. I am just curious to see how bad it REALLY is....

Good Luck. I know I am feeling super lucky right now that I work for the company I do. We just keep booming because the field we are in will never go away and we keep expanding to new products. As an administrative assistant, this week was the first time I actually had to work overtime! It felt good! But I digress.

 

It never, ever hurts to look for something better. But I can tell you from what I've seen, every factory in my town except the one I work for is laying people off left and right. I don't know what industry you're in, but just seeing that makes me thankful I have the job I do.

if they are in related fields you could find yourself in hot water...i know all my employees as well as all the employees of my competitors in town and if one of his came to my office to apply i would snatch him up if i could and if i couldnt then id bring it up as a haha to my competitor the next time i saw him at one of our conventions. Which i would expect probably would not favor too well for the employee but then again if he got fired i could possibly pick him up for less then the original offer.
