But also feeling my age since I'm looking at bifocal contacts...lol Blessed Be, Preacher

arwen
hehe congrats!! But, if I read your message correctly, this is the first child that you and her have together, right? It will be a big combined family. Do your respective kids get along? A new little one may just be the thing that binds them together more btw I hope for you that you won't be a grandfather SO soon though.

ErikT
My wife was 37 and our son was 16 when my wife found out about being pregnant with our daughter so I know EXACTLY what thoughts are going through your mind! When Our daughter was 5 months old we found out she was pregnant with our 2nd son! So here we are with a 2 year old, a 1 year old, and a 19 year old who joined the Marines and doesn't live at home. While our older son was "excited" he wasn't much help as far as the babies go (even when he was still living at home.) Congrats! I know both my wife and I are more mature and more patient with the babies this time around. Good luck!
jdpreacher
Yes, our kids get along wonderfully...and my daughter is excited for us...my older son, well, he's just biding time until college...lol I think, after past marriage and relationships that were not good, that I finally got it right this time. I've not been happier. Thank you all for your kind words. Blessed Be, Preacher

ErikT
Congratulations. You know what they say, "40 is the new 30". Yeah, but with little ones when your 40, there are times you are so tired that you feel like your 60!
BellaDonna
Yeah, but with little ones when your 40, there are times you are so tired that you feel like your 60! I can imagine....some days I feel like I'm 95- and I'm only 29. The first 6 months of having an infant were the most draining for me. The sleep deprivation was extremely tough. Then when they are able to crawl and walk....and run a new set of challenges keeping up with them.
jdpreacher
I actually go about 20 hours a day as it is, I have to be at work at 5 so I'm up at 4 and don't get to sleep until around midnight because my wife and I are trying to start our own business...so I don't think it will be much different for me...my wife maybe, poor girl...she was by herself for her first pregnancy and I took care of my two when my first ex abandoned us so...this will be a different experience for both of us. ErikT
so I don't think it will be much different for me...my wife maybe, poor girl...she was by herself for her first pregnancy and I took care of my two when my first ex abandoned us so...this will be a different experience for both of us. Blessed Be, Preacher Well it sounds like, if anything, this time around will be easier for both of you, given that you are both going to be involved! Good luck and have a blast! ErikT
Then when they are able to crawl and walk....and run a new set of challenges keeping up with them. ISn't that the truth! Plus we just moved into our new house and it has 2 sets of stairs! We have up the gate, but everytime one of them goes by the gate/stairs my heart stops! JadedStar
This happens way more often than it used to! You sound 'excited' about the news so that is half the battle! If you were looking at this begrudgeonly it would be a much harder road, but you sound excited about it so no doubt it will all work out. I am old enough to be my sister's mom, ALMOST, and it is great because we had ZERO sibling rivalry and i was always her psuedo mommy. I think this is how it is for a lot of older siblings who get a baby brother or sister much younger. She was my shadow when she was little and I adored her, still do!
