"C. S. Lewis, in one of his novels, Till We All Have Faces, depicts a heroine who has a lover whom no one can see. In fact, she can't even see him herself. She lives in a castle which can't be observed. She drinks of springs which no one else can see. She has hidden resources of supply wherever she turns, and yet no one can see them."
