SlightlyConfussed Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 i try so hard to be a good girlfriend, and its like never going to happen...like i completely want to be, but its like i cant! its confussing me, i know im depressed, and im on meds for it and all...but im still so bitchy! I love my boyfriend, and he tells me everyday he will never break up with me, but there is always the fear that he will, because im such a bitch! i feel so bad, because i never want to lose him...can anyone give me some clues, so im not so bitch? Please? thanks...

I am curious as to what those words meant. Why do you think that you are not a good gf? There is no textbook definition of a good gf or any particular way to act. You just be yourself and any flaws in your personality that you find to be a damper on your character can be altered only if you make the conscious effort to do so. This doesn't mean to change yourself, but to better shape who you truly are. For example...I have had extreme jealousy issues and would be nagging my bf about things I thought he was doing that would lead me to be jealous. I realized that this is a personal character flaw and had to make a conscious decision to remind myself that those feelings are only insecurities from my past...not facts. I hope this made some sense. But if your bf isnt accepting you for you then you were not meant for eachother. The difference lies within yourself. are there qualities about yourself that you have always been ashamed of? Then try to alter them. I really hope this helped.

Your boyfriend says he loves you and that he is going to stay with you. I would accept that fact and his sweet words. Worry less and be happy with him. You're doing an awesome job with the meds. I am sure you are addressing your current depression and try to work on it. Basically I think that you're doing GREAT! Keep up the good work! ~ SwingFox ~
