What a shy guy does to show interest in a girl(List of signs)

I usually start convos off with hi and then ask how he is.. We cant seem to get passed the hi part haha! I would try to interact with him on facebook or text him but i dont have his number and i dont want to get it from someone else and creepily text him.. And hes never on facebook.. Ever. Once in a blue moon perhaps but usually not so. If he knows im near him (like sitting behind him during a basketball game or in the halls) he'll talk loud enough for me to hear. And his friends seem to tease him more often when im around. I think they wanted him to ask me out after the GBB game tonight, but my friends stuck to me like glue. Anyways, its progress Our mutual friend, whom i confide in in this situation, wants me to wait for him to ask me.. I think maybe so he feels he has enough confidence? I think letting him do the chasing for a while is a good idea.. Especially around Valentine's Day.. Idk.. Do you think he'd be less intimidated if i just wore sweats every day? Well.. Most days?

Its like the guy who had a crush on my in primary school that told me years later. The whole time I hated him because he once chased me with a cricket bat and was being really mean...if not ignoring me. I mean waaaaaaaat!?
