jengh
I did a pilates boot camp dvd and let's just say I was on the floor in a coma at the end... and I dropped weight... so it worked for me, but I'm also overweight. Link to comment
waveseer
I lose size by toning, not weight. But the overall health benefits and injury prevention are worth it. Link to comment
COtuner
Still best to do a vigorous cardio workout with Pilates. Link to comment
dani_katze
I studied to be Pilate's Instructor and what you say is true, so I agree with Cotuner's suggestion. In fact in my case I didn't reduce weight but I lost cm Link to comment
CoCo2009
so if I did like Taebo and Pilates together everyday I should lose some weight? I weigh like 140lbs and I am like 5'5. Is that considered fat? I'm slim but I have a round butt. I'm black Link to comment

I'm black Don't think you need to do both every day, how about alternating them each day, 3 days on, 1 day off? 140 is probably not overweight at your height but it depends on your build. Nothing wrong with a little booty Link to comment
mybunnyslipperz
Pilates will help you to gain muscle mass, which will burn everyday calories more effectively. The best method for losing weight is to alternate strength training (pilates) with cardio. One day do pilates and the next do some type of cardio workout. Do this no more than 6 days a week and rest on the 7th day to give your body a chance to recover. Lather, rinse, repeat... Link to comment

Pilates is incredible for exercising core muscles which are extremely difficult to get at otherwise. It's a great workout. Link to comment
