Scorpion Fury
My friend had this little hyperactive dog that was like a vacuum cleaner. Anytime you dropped food on the floor, she'd come eat it before you could even think about cleaning it up. Once we accidentally spilled a bowl of salsa on the kitchen floor and before we could clean it up or stop her, that dog was there and ate every drop of that salsa. We were like omg! and that dog look up at us and she had tears rolling out of her eyes because that salsa was so hot. Poor baby. After that it seemed like she was more cautious of what she'd eat, I didn't see her eat anything without sniffing it first after that. Link to comment

Hopefully the salsa did not contain onions, which are very toxic to dogs. Same goes for chocolate. Link to comment

JadedStar
As for chocolate, yes it can be toxic to dogs...but it takes a lot...and it is the semi sweet bakers chocolate that is most toxic. Sad to say i have very bad dachshunds who manage to get into situations that i never believed they could and they have both ingested whole chocolate santas on one occasion at christmas. I panicked and thought they would die. Even tho they are so tiny the 8 oz choc santas didnt' hurt them. I called the vet ER and they said that the milk chocolate varieties that are popular are not as toxic and it takes quite a bit to really poison a dog. My dogs were lethargic a few hours and very thirsty, but it didn't kill them. They bounced back with no permanent damage. My dog has eaten onions too, same thing. It takes a certain amount to be toxic. I have called the Vet ER over that too. Dachshunds are so hungry all the time that they are downright cunning in the ways they will steal food. Of course keep these items away from them all that you can, but small amounts won't do anything other than make them a bit feeling bad for a couple hours. But never take the chance and let them get into it if you can help it. Link to comment
jengh
Oh wow, I never realized that I'll have to be more careful... Man, when I was younger, I used to give the dog pizza with onion on it... Eek. Sorry Comet!!!! Link to comment

thejigsup
I have one kitty that is bulemic and one that would die before he puked up any precious food. Strange. One is normal weight (puker) and one is rol-poly. Link to comment
Scorpion Fury
I saw these people on TV a while back. They got a new cat and not long after their water bill went sky high. They couldn't figure out why. They set up cameras in their bathrooms and found out while they weren't home that the cat was flushing the toilets over and over again, and watching the water spin around and just fascinated with it. He'd run back and forth between the bathrooms and do to each toilet, over and over. He couldn't get enough. Link to comment
Catdancer
Our Slash is a pretty grumpy kitty and the bathroom is HIS domain. He sleeps in one of our laundry baskets on towels or clothes and we even had to put a bowl of food in there for him. So, he's all set up in the bathroom. I'm 8 months pregnant and I am still vomitting quite a bit as well as peeing about every half an hour. Our Slash has become quite the lovey boy and sole provider of comfort at 3:00 am. I was puking my guts up one night and he was sitting on the sink beside the toilet. As I sit up, removing my face from the bowl, I feel someone gently tapping the back of my head, like.."there, there it's ok".. it was the Slasher, patiently looking at me and patting my head. lol What a sweetie! Also, one night last week, I was again up in the wee hours of the morning. This time peeing every half an hour through the night. I managed to fall asleep with my head on the side of the sink while sitting on the toilet. It was only for a minute or so, but I was awoken by this sniffing noise in my ear. It was again, the Slasher with his cold little nose in my ear. I looked up and here he is patiently starring at me like..."it's time to go to bed now". His facial expressions just kill me!!! lol Link to comment
thejigsup
I recently had a severe stomache bug, in fact it started New Years Eve and didn't let up until the evening of January 2nd. My faithful cats were by my side the entire time. Doing the paw tap, snuggling up against me in bed and then not taking offense when I jumped up and ran to the bathroom yet again. They were so loving and concerned. They followed me everwhere and wouldn't leave my side until the worst was past. And some people think that cats are aloof and uncaring. They have never owned a cat! They are as caring and devoted as any other pet, or maybe more. Link to comment

My son usally harasses my cat (typical toddler stuff, chasing and not becing very gentle)- but recently he did not feel well and my kitty was still was right by his side- even if it meant an occasional pull of her tail. She took it just to be near him. She is a very patient and loving cat. -Perfect to have a kid around. Link to comment

He says "3!" and they bark 3 times. He says "9!" and they bark 9 times. It's really annoying b/c they're yorkies with high-pitched barks, but it's really cool that they know how to do it! Bad Wolf
lately, my ducklings have been following me everywhere. When they fall behind they'll point their neck and head forward, put their wings out and start sprinting towards me! When it gets really hot they'll sit underneath my car and quite often they'll bump their heads on something underneath the car and come waddling out with lil spots of grease and oil on their heads. Ya can't really notice it on Daffy (the brown one) but you can on Donald (the white one). Link to comment
lila...
I have an overweight chihuahua and an average sized one. The overweight one really likes me, he's super attached to me Anyway, when I get home and I kneel down to greet them, and it's the other one's turn to get attention, he'll get really jealous. He pushes my hands away and often he comes up behind her and pushes her down. He's really fat and she's very skinny so poor thing lol. He's very ungentlemanly towards her he's always pushing her out of the way to eat her food because she's a slow and picky eater, he also pushes her to get through the door first. I still love him lol. Link to comment
kaoticbaby
my chihuahua is six months old now, so he is going through his little adolescent phase. and he is CONSTANTLY trying to test me to see what he can and cannot get away with. whenever i yell at him for for being fresh ("NO Bunny, STOP chewing on the 80$ heels that i JUST bought!!") he will roll over onto his back and give me puppy-dog eyes. arghh he knows that i can't resist it. hers
anytime i come home and find that leeluu has done something she knows she's not allowed to do (like get in my bedroom garbage can), she punishes herself. all i have to do is walk in, and she's cowered on the floor, ears back as far as they can go, sad eyes, tail wagging nervously. i go in my room and find garbage--she always gives it away before i find the mess. she'll follow me into the room, without my having said anything about it to her, and she's cowering and looking scared. then, all i have to do is point at her from accross the room, and she lies down and wags her tail nervously. it's become like a game--she knows when she's in trouble, i dont get mad, but i like to see how long she'll punish herself before she realizes i'm not mad (i'd rather pick up a little garbage than not hav her at all!). by the time she realizes, i'm already sitting on my bed, and she coms up to love on me and apologize. it's so cute.
