Have you ever skipped your period while on Birth Control?

I went to the doctor and she said if I skipped my placebo pills I could skip a period. I wanted to try this out one time. Have you ever done it? Did it cause you problems?

Yes, you can skip your placebo pills without a problem. I had a problem with break-through bleeding when I tried it, but most seem to have more success than I did. It also depends on the strength of the pill you are taking. (I think -- this is opinion.) I think it's easier to skip with the low-dose BC pills than the higher ones.

all of my pills have the same hormone level and they are low dose. What if I took 2 extra pills just to prolong when it will come? Will that work?

No, don't do that. If you want to skip your period, don't take the sugar pills and go right to your next pack.

Just found out a few months ago I have adenomyosis - my doctor actually has me skip the placebos for 3 months - it is a low dose bc, and the only issue I've had is that I forgot 1 pill and had break through bleeding for 2 weeks. When that happens I have to take the placebo no matter what pack I'm on.

 

don't take 2 pills in one day, thats too much hormones and your body will overcorrect trying to level itself out - much worse chance of emotional as well as physical side effects for a few days

no I don't mean take 2 pills one day, I mean if I took Sunday and Monday and then stopped so I would get my period later in the we instead of earlier. Does that make sense ?

Yes that makes more sense, but you should still take all the active pills consecutively,no skips
