Is he into me?

Hi all,

I live in an apartment community that includes a fitness center. I work out a lot and am a frequent visitor to this fitness center. I always see this guy there. We make small talk. The first time we started talking was about a month ago. We were both lifting weights and he said "Hi I'm Jon." And I began to tell him my name and we just made small talk. I've seen him a few mroe times at the fitness center and again, just small talk. The week of New Year's he asked me what my plans were. I said I didn't really have any, and that I would be hanging out with my dogs. He told me to go to this place that he was going. There was a cover band playing that he liked. He was like "yea round up some friends and go!" I said I would consider it. When I left the gym he said "Yea, just go online and look at check out the band , tickets are only 25$. Well, I didn't go. This week, after New Year's, I saw him at the gym. It was actually funny because I drove to the gym as he was walking to it. He was like "Oh my god, don't tell me you drive to the gym." He busted my balls for a bit about that, it was funny. When we got to the fitness center he asked what had happened to me on New Year's eve. I said I was tired and hung out with my dogs. I told him I would make it up to him and we would go out for drinks sometime. He asked me if I was renting a two bedroom, and I said I was only renting a one bedroom. He asked what part of the complex I lived in. After this small talk, we then went onwith our workouts. I left the gym before him and I said goodbye and have a good one. That was it. I am not entirely sure if he's into me. I need help! I am very outgoing, friendly, and can be flirty. I kind of want to ask him for drinks but I fear rejection. What should I do?

eh - he didn't ask you out, and he had perfect opportunities to. i'm guessing he's not interested. my 2 cents. but i could be wrong.

He seems pretty persistent to me....it seemed pretty obvious that he was interested... it seems to me like you're not making the effort. He has been trying to get you to go out... have you ever hinted anything to him?

Haven't really hinted to him. The only thing remotely close to that was "Hey I'll make it up to you, we'll go out for drinks sometime." He was like "Yea definitely." I'm just wondering how to go about it. I am kind of shy when I'm into someone, but I'm really outgoing other than that. I just need some advice at actually dropping hints without seeming creepy, haha.

It's funny how people are so blind to interest signs from the opposite sex. From a guys' point of view his interest is so blatantly obvious haha. I guess that's what keeps things interesting though.
