Lights
I need some advice. I am an active person and I don't eat anything crazily unhealthy, but there's still some weight I'd like to lose that won't come off. I'd like to try hydroxycut, or something similar in effects/price range. Please give your suggestions, and/or success stories!!! Thanks guys (I'd like to lose 20-30 pounds). Link to comment
Scorpion Fury
Pills are no bueno. If you have been making a serious effort to lose weight and it won't budge, have your thyroid checked. Link to comment
Lights
I don't have any serious medical issues, I had a physical not too long ago. It's just stubborn fat that is not wanting to come off, lol. I've done my research on a lot of the pills...so I just want to see what people think who have taken them (as far as whether they work or not). Link to comment
alli
I don't know a lot about weight loss pills but I have heard that they sometimes kill people.. making your heart race. Unless you are planning to take them forever, one day you will stop taking them & the weight will come back, plus putting on some additional weight is likely. You could see a dietician that might help you figure out ways to either lose weight or accept where you're at. I saw a dietician a couple times. I had always thought I wasn't consuming a lot of calories but keeping a diet log I figured out I was taking in more than I thought (around 2500 a day at the time). I wasn't overweight but definitely not thin, either. Working out 4-5 times a week helps but I know for me the main contributing factor to my weight is my caloric intake, so I figured out ways to lower that number to below 2000. Aerobic exercise helps somewhat, but mainly exercise is important for your overall health. Link to comment

alli
If you are really set on taking diet pills, ask your Dr which one is the least risky for your health. Maybe they will give you a recommendation. There are those pills called alli that I've heard a lot about. They would be a good deterent to keep you from eating fatty foods, because they cause "anal leakage" if you eat high-fat food while taking them. I love that I created a username associated with anal leakage. Link to comment

Lights
haha to answer what you guys said: -yes, i do know you have to work out while taking them. -the only fatalities with the pills i researched were people who did serious drugs at the same time, like cocaine. Link to comment
BellaDonna
Hydroxycut does not work. The only thing it makes thinner is your wallet. I've used it twice when I hit weight loss plateaus (I was eating well and exercising) and it did nothing. What works for me instead is to cut out refined carbs and sugar and drink a lot more water and green tea. Link to comment

MollyElise
Really, I understand what it's like to want to lose weight, but I personally think it is kinda kooky to take a pill that could harm your health for your vanity. But... ugh, I can't help but help (as an ex-crazy-dieter) the best one is phentermine, it's a prescription but you can get it over the internet. Don't waste your time with 'legal speed' (hydroxycut, etc) I have NEVER seen anyone lose real weight with them, I have seen people who use/abuse them to be able to keep an unhealthy weight, the two girls I am thinking of both enjoyed abusing uppers in their social life as well. So, I guess, if you like speed or cocaine you can deal with taking it for 6 months or so before it totally wears you out. Most people can't even stomach them for a couple of days. I was pointed to this site link removed by someone on here today, it is a great site, I recommend you look it over. It would help you be much happier than any pill ever could. Link to comment
PsychGirly
One of my close relatives died after a few weeks of using Ephedra (otherwise known as Fen-Phen, FenFen). I wouldn't suggest diet pills--any kind. I also had a hard time losing weight a couple years ago. I was working out & eating less & it came to a point where I stopped losing weight, but I still had about 10 more lbs to go. Try packing more fiber in your diet. Take fiber supplements if you have to. Buy flax seeds & mix it with your meals. Drink a lot of green tea. They even have green tea pills now...didn't work for me, but might work for you. Fen-Phen is a prescription weight loss drug. ephedra was an over the counter supplement but it was band. there is no magic weight loss pill. weight loss is all about diet and excerise.. if ur really serious i suggest hiring a credible dietion with lots of experience to help lose bodyfat.. thejigsup
I've taken them off and on for years. If your heart is healthy, they won't hurt you. I have successfully lost weight on them when I was younger, anywhere from 10 to 30 pounds in a couple of months. I never put on much weight when I got off of the pills, they teach your stomach to be happy with much less food, so when you stop taking them, your stomach stays satisfied with less food unless you start eating bigger amounts. Just to be safe, I would have my doctor check me out to see if my heart is strong and healthy. I no longer take them, and haven't for years. These days, I'm happier with my weight than I have been in a long time. I eat a normal amount and if I stay at a certain weight, that is where I should be. I have severe hypogycemia, so cutting out carbs of any kind makes me very ill. Link to comment

Lights
i really planned on just buying a bottle to test it out. i didn't plan on taking 3 at a time, twice a day like the bottle says. i just want one in the morning, one at night. just to shed a couple extra pounds. hydroxycut doesn't have ephedra in it anymore, so i don't think 2 a day is going to be a huge problem...anyone agree? sidehop
You know, I took Xenadrin when ephedrin was still legal...but honestly other than an extra boost, the effect is very similar to when I drink coffee. They do recommend a tea or coffee (caffeinated of course) before a work out. It does help. The pills are just a waste of money in that sense. Link to comment

Binoo
Before you try the Hydroxycut and so forth, have you tried Omega 3 suppliments? They're good for you and in some cases can cause a strong boost in metabolism. I just started a new meal suppliment shake also [ made by Life ] and it's full of nutrients. I've lost 3 pounds in 3 days after being plateaued for nearly a year. Link to comment
