Uneven complexion...

Recommended Posts

Hey all...quick question...

I'm wondering how i can get a more even skin tone. I think i have a touch of rosasia on my cheeks...blotchy and red...and also some faint veins that i'm starting to see right where my cheeks crease when i smile.

I can still live with it and all...but i'm wondering how to try to even things out short of living in a tanning bed!!

Thought?

If there are no bumps associated and just the redness, and faint broken veins, it doesn't sound like roascea. Some people have a genetic predisposition to the broken capillaries in the face and it gives a red hue. If often gets worse as you get older, and certain things like alcohol or certain face cremes like Retinol products and alpha hydrox can aggravate it (not sure if you are male or female, if male you might not know what products i am referring to as typically women buy them).

The only treatment for this that I know of is laser treatments. If you get them from a dermatologist you will likely pay far less than if you get them from a plastic surgeon. A dermatologist can also officially diagnose and tell you if it is from rosacea or not. But again, without the bumpy appearance i doubt it is rosacea and it usually starts on and around the bulb of the nose...over time can even cause a cauliflower type appearance. You typically only see it this far advanced in older men and women, normally men.
