i think my GF might be pregnant. She hasn't been on BC since August '08 and we've been having unprotected relations, since we started back dating again last month. Her period was due 12/27/08 and it is now 1/5/09 and she still hasn't had her period (it's over a week late). She took a pregnancy test 12/30 and it was negative. Could it have been a false negative? She said she's going to take another pregnancy test when it hits the 2wk mark w/o having a period.

There are "early response" pregnancy tests out there. Sometimes taking a normal test too early can result in a false negative.

 

Also, if you're really nervous, a simple blood test can confirm it.

I would have her see a Dr. and have some blood work done to see if she is pregnant. No use is fretting about it.

Yea, her periods were regular - always at the end of the month around the 27th... Yea, we are trying to get pregnant.....

I'd give her another week and retest. If you test too early you can get a negative result and actually be pregnant.

 

If her period doesn't show up in another week and she is still getting negative tests she should make an appointment with her doctor to investigate why her period is late.

she tested again yesterday afternoon. she took a regular preganancy test that wasn't an early response and it came up negative... She still hasn't had her period that was due on Dec 27th, and her boobs are hurting, her stomach is starting to tighten ( it's hard on the outside and hollow near the belly button), and she feels neaseaous sometimes. She said she is going to wait another week before going to her doctor.

 

Her Co-workers and friends that has had children are saying that regardless of what the test is saying, she is in the early stages of pregnancy...
