Most extreme romantic gestures

1) What was the most romantic thing someone did or said to you in your life?

2) Has there ever been a moment in your life in which someone did or said something really extreme and/or very romantic that made your heart melt for that person, especially in a situation where (for whatever reason) you were loosing hope about her/him or even considering to leave her/him?

one year on my birthday, my husband tracked down the woman who made our wedding cake and had a smaller version made for my birthday party, which i shared with family and friends that he invited over. i thought that was sweet and VERY romantic.

also, my husband always dropped me off at work every day. he would always whistle at me when i walked away from the car. a little thing that always made me feel good.

The way my very first boyfriend asked me to be his girlfriend was the sweetest, most romantic gesture anyone has done to me. It was a rainy school night and he walked all over to my house to ask me. He asked me and I said no several times (my parents didn't allow me to have a boyfriend) so he got down on one knee, soaking wet under the rain, and asked me. It was the most romantic scene ever lol. Of course then I told him yes so long as he left already.

Here's one my buddy did that I wish I had thought of.

On the night he proposed to his girlfriend he took her out to the pier to watch the sunset. At the time, he was working as a construction diver and talked his buddies into helping him with the proposal. Anyway, he popped the question just as the sun was setting the sky ablaze with color, but said he didn't have a ring yet. She said that she would marry him, definitely, but he should ask her again when he had a ring.

That was the cue, his diving buddies popped up out of the water and tossed up a small bag that contained...you guessed it, a beautiful diamond engagement ring. He then said "Well, now I have the ring...what do you say now?"

They were married soon afterward.

Dang, Leo....how sneaky of your buddy!

I think one of the most romantic things my boyfriend ever did for me was burn Phoenix Coyotes hockey games for me to watch. LOL I LOVE hockey, and ever since I moved to Australia, I hadn't been able to watch it.

as for the most romantic thing...he'd kill me if he read this.....but he doesn't need to know ;-D I loved a boy several years ago, over the internet, and we never were able to meet as he lived on the opposite side of the country and my parents would have killed me. He ended up dating someone else, which made me feel like maybe he never liked me as much as I liked him. but one night he sent me an IM in which he told me that he never didn't want me to go see him. That he had always wanted to be with me. That just about made me melt/broke my heart all at once.

A few months ago, my family had a crisis where they told me to break up with my boyfriend because they thought he was an awful person.

I almost did, and one night during the whole fiasco, I just broke down into his arms and he started singing me a song in Latin that he had learned in high school. I don't quite remember what the translation was, but it was lovely-- all about how the mountains could fall down, the seas could be on fire, but that he would still love me. It was really sweet. That he would sing something like that to me when I was thinking about breaking up with him meant the world to me.

* The most romantic thing that my bf has said to me was when I was working at a job that I'm not longer working at but I happened to have my cell phone in my pocket. Well, he sent me a text which said: "I'm thinking about you and how lucky I am to have someone as special as you are. You make everything better and bring peace to my life. You are the thing that has been missing in my life and make me a better person. I love you!"

* About a month and half ago I was going a diffcult situation with my parents and it got to a really horriable point and I moved out. But, my bf had helped me grab a few things that I needed. But, as we were leaving I asked him if everything was ok. He told me how much I meant to him and how much it hurt him to see that my parents were treating such a beautiful, smart, caring and loving person so horribly. As he was saying that he had tears in his eyes and at that point I could see how deeply in love he is with me. I could see how much care, respect and love that he has for me. That point I knew how great of a guy that I have in my life and I can't see myself being with anyone else. He has definitely stood for me and just has completely shown his love and care throughout the past 2 yrs that we've been together.

My boyfriend told me that I'm worth it.

That meant THE WORLD to me, because I think that was the minute that I saw right through him and how much I mean to him.

No massive romantic gestures, but that one sentence did it all for me.

I find that really interesting because I always say how getting hurt by this girl possibly is worth the pain and the wait.

Yeah, if you look through some of my other posts...my boyfriend and i have been through a LOT of stuff. we were broken up, got back together, had trouble with a best friend because of it, a whole lot. and that's why it's important to hear him say that he holds no resentment over how things have played out, because i'm worth that.

Honestly, thats really sweet and seeing that you are happy makes me want to tell my signifigant other how I feel. Even if she rejects me well at least it will boast her self-confidence and make her feel good.

Yeah, you should tell her

A woman needs to hear things like that sometimes! hehe, we've been back together for about 7 months now, and still going strong.

1) my BF used to get up around 5 a.m. or so for work, and i always tried to get up with him, at least to just kiss him goodbye at the door. One morning, sans make-up, bed head, in my sweats...you know not looking at all glamorous and with heavy sleepy eyes, he looked at me, took my face in his hands and said 'you're so pretty..." i melted right there...

when my ex agreed to move to live with me in anther country i went to pick her up from the airport.... i painted red hearts all over my car and filled it with flowers. she got off the plane pretty sleepy and didnt really react as charmed as i had hoped. appreciated it in the morning though.

the hearts didnt come off and i had the car for another 2 yrs. it wasnt always the most appropriate way to show up somewhere in the end i sold it to my friend's sister who thought the hearts were really cool. she then wrote the poor love machine off

My boyfriend is huge on flowers, so every time I get a surprise bouquet, I'm floored.

He's a sweetpea, but I thought I'd mention what I got him last year for Christmas.

We were at a pet shop for my cat a couple of months before that, picking up a new tag and just had an awesome day that day shopping. I thought of it then, but I went to buy a silver heart tag and had his name engraved on one side, with "Return to _myname_" on the back. Corny, I know, but it looked just like a little pet tag, and I added a keychain loop to it.

He had no idea what was up when he up wrapped to find a jewelery box, but the look on his face when he opened the box was priceless. He still says its the best gift anyone has ever gotten him.

I also have made him a custom shirt on link removed, as well as a custom mousepad, since he's always using his mouse with his laptop.
