I'll be starting a new job Jan. 5th and I just bought a brand-new car, so I'm already making big changes for the new year....but I still need to work on the following;

1. Lose a good 30 pounds.

2. Pay off some debt

3.Make new friends while making my current relationships stronger.

4. Keep a positive attitude and continue to change my luck around

5. Knit a scarf!

Fight toxic negative thoughts and replace them with positive ones. Have an amazing positive outlook with the business, relationships, and life in general.

What is in the past, is now in 2008 -- quaranteen negative thoughts to the past year -- see nothing but potential and positive thoughts for the following year. After all, I haven't started 2009, it could really be AMAZING !!!

I'm actully pretty good with following through on resolutions, and this year I have two:

1 - Start going to church (again). I was raised with it, but stopped going, sans Holidays, a long time ago due to laziness and other poor excuses. Compounding sort of took over after that.

2 - Quit dip. I've done it on/off since college, and it's a nasty habit. Colleagues tell me that this is the one thing that is really odd about me. I'm educated, professional, etc., but then I toss in a wad of tobacco into my mouth. LOL. It's filthy, and it needs to stop.

No spitting beginning tomorrow morning, and I'll start the day off with Mass.

1. Get enough sleep and on time

2. Find quality girl

3. Graduate

School had been preventing me from doing the things I want to do, it has to be checked off my list by the end of 2009. Getting fed up with what the prof thinks is important.

9) complete PhD, get pharmacy license

so cool.

Do you think you can help me identify some core books?

I've ordered 3 used pharmacy textbook last week just to take a peek into the subject so journals would be more readable.

Do you think these textbooks are the essense to pharmacy? Or have I missed some must haves?

Robbins & Cotran Pathologic Basis of Disease

Pharmacotherapy: A Pathophysiologic Approach

Basic And Clinical Pharmacology

There were also a core textbook called "Goodman And Gilman's The Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics" which I didn't order. It was very difficult to read, I would guess students get dizzy just by looking at the statistics.

Basic and clinical pharmacology by Katzung and Trevor is a good book. I like it.

Goodman and Gilman The pharmacological basis of therapeutics is the bible of pharmac n therapeutics but IMO its too much to read.

Are you in medical or pharmacy or nursing school? Are you reading these books for fun (no this is not a sarcastic Q) or to get better grade or to pass the boards? If you want to pass the boards (which is my goal) read with exam pattern in mind. B'coz I have so much material to read, I've to be selective in what I read, so I read to pass the exam, then if time permits, I'll read to get more knowledge of the topic/area that interests me. Many students get lost in the content and the extent of information. Don't do that. Stay focused. (If you tell me what school you are in n why you want to read these books, I'll be able to guide you better.) Good luck!
