Ariel85
I ask because Ive been chatting by phone and text with someone that I met online. When he calls me, we tend to talk for hours. And I mean hours! lol. And we text a bit here and there. I have no idea what he is doing tonight - we never discussed our separate social plans/holiday plans. He told me he has a lot going on with the holidays, which is why we haven't made plans yet. (We did try to meet recently, but I had to cancel because of a work thing). Does this sound legit, or an excuse? Link to comment

hazelnut
I've noticed that holidays (including NYE) are for already established relationships and with all the parties, visiting and traveling, we do, we can sometimes spread ourselves thin. Maybe I'm wrong but that's what I've noticed. Maybe something will work out when the holiday hub-bub dies down soon?? Link to comment
ARodFan82
NYE is a good night for parties/larger social gatherings, so maybe he wants to use that environment to make the first meeting less awkward. sounds legit to me. just be sure you limit your drink intake in case he turns out to be a weirdo. No - we're not meeting tonight. He told me the reason we haven't arranged a date yet is because he's been so busy with holiday stuff. My question was if he was just playing me, or if it's legit that he didn't want to meet at some point tonight. Link to comment
ARodFan82
if he is home for the holidays or whatever, i could see him being busy with family/friends. i wouldn't give up yet. holiday plans will no longer be an excuse in 48 hours, so at least you'll know for sure soon. Link to comment

Well, we both live in the town where he grew up, and I know he has a lot of friends. Im just miffed a little because we talked for over two hours on Monday night, and he didn't ask me out. I kinda nudged him about it later, and thats when he said he was busy with holiday stuff, and that's why he hasnt made a plan with me yet. Link to comment

I'm sure the date invite will come within the next week or so... Link to comment
Batya33
If he doesn't ask you to meet by early next week I would move on. It should not be a date - he's someone you're meeting in person to see if you should go on a date. I think it's fine that he didnt' ask to meet you NYE because it's harder to cut the date short on a night like tonight. Link to comment
