How many partners is too many?

Its a question not worth asking really. Some things you just don't need to know. I guess by default, if the girl was in my social circle, and I knew her past, Id say two would be too many. But in any other case, im not asking. I wouldn't ask the waiter how many times he went to the restroom that day; I just really don't wanna know, its gonna spoil a good meal. A better phrased question would be, have you been tested ever?

So, if you knew her past, because she was a friend you'd be less likely to sleep with her. But, someone else would get the chance if you didn't know them?

 

I mean, it does kinda make sense. If I knew who a good guy friend had slept with it would make it hard to want to sleep with them.

I agree. Why would it matter assuming they are 'clean?'

I'm really on a need to know basis. With this idea I don't go for your typical "hot girls" since many of them sleep around, (at least in L.A.) thereforee I usually am into the dorky types in the bookstore. Many whom have only had a few other geeky, less sexually active contemporaries. So I guess its also subjective to where you pick up. I club alot, but would only bring home 1% of the girls I meet there. Why? They are always there, and If I don't take em home, some drunk dude is. I usually trust my types though. Does that make sense?

It's not a numbers thing...it's how they treat me, what we have in common, can we communicate and all the other things that go in to a relationship...My partner could have any # of partners and it wouldn't change how I feel about them b/c that was all before me...what matters is how they treat me and how we work as a couple NOW...no sense stressing over something that can never be changed and had nothing to do with you anyways...

I never ask my gf's that question. Mostly because I don't want to know, and frankly I don't care. But if I were to ask that question, too many would be around 25 to 30, assuming she was my age- 27.

 

I don't know how many girls I've slept with. I stopped counting after 25, only because the number doesn't matter to me, and sleeping with girls isn't like keeping a notch on my belt.

So, you've had many more than 25 but you think too many for a girl would be more than 25?

so you've been with more than 25 but if a girl was with more 25 that would be a deal breaker that is if you found out since you don't ask...

I think it depends on the situation... I have had bfs who I have asked and then some that I haven't.

My last bf had a bit of a wild past when he was younger, but that was all a long time ago now - when he was 19 and now he is 28, so if I were to ask him and hear something I didn't like it is no reflection on him now.

I think if you're worried it might upset you then don't ask, or ask yourself why you need to know?
