Jelina
Is it normal for your period to be longer as you get older? The first time I ever got my period I only had it for 3 days. It was like that for a couple of years. Then it changed to 5 and now it's at 6-7. I asked my friend and hers has always been the same. Is it supposed to change as you get older? Link to comment
metrogirl
I think for every female it is going to differ vastly. I would get mine for 5-6 days and ridiculously heavy, with a break on day 3. Now it has shortened to about 4 days with a break towards the end of day 2. weird right? Link to comment

I am 25 now and it does last longer, just like you say. I am not sure if this is normal or not...but my doctor says I am in perfect health! Are you on BCP's? I had to get on them to correct my irregularity. I was having a period every 2 months instead of 1 month...and they would last about 2 to 3 days. The "unpredictable-ness" of my periods made me wary, so I used the pill to regulate. Not anymore though, things have somehow been normal I hope this helps. Link to comment
Crazyaboutdogs
At 23 there should not be drastic changes, those happen in late 30's and 40's. I am 42 and only having minor minor changes. Yep...the countdown to menopause is on...I have little subtle changes....nothing drastic but little things that happen every so often. My last one actually lasted for 9 days (not fun) instead of the usual 7. I used to get it between 32-35 days, now it is 27-29 days. I believe even when your are younger you can experience subtle changes in the cycle. Link to comment

Jelina
Yea I figured it was ok for it to last longer as you get older, but after my friend told me that hers hasn't changed at all it made me nervous. I'm just scared that in a couple of years I'll be getting it even longer, like for 2 weeks or something, seeing how it keeps getting longer as I get older. Link to comment
