MollyElise
My favorite record of '08 is '19' by Adele... she's changed the way I see vocalists, I can't wait to hear what she has next! Favorite Book of 2008 is 'Atlas Shrugged', it's over 50 years old, but new to me and has been very influential in shaping my thoughts this year I don't have a favorite movie of 2008... well I guess my favorite movie I watched this year was another oldie (but my 1st time watching it) 'Lonesome Dove' ... read that book this year too and it's a strong contender for best book, but 'Atlas Shrugged' affected me on a whole 'nother level. What about you? What art influenced you in 2008? Link to comment
Cloud9Kitty
The Sex and the City Movie was released right after I broke up with my BF of 6 years. I sat through it crying most of the time, but by the end i felt empowered and ready to move on with my life. Go Carrie Bradshaw!! You rock girl! Link to comment

COtuner
"Better in Time" by Leona Lewis is my favorite record of 2008, I think, given that I've gone through the end of a long term relationship, a change of direction in my career, and some personal challenges. It makes me cry and feel better all at the same time. Link to comment

hers
My favorite movie this year was "Milk" about Harvey Milk (played by Sean Penn). Incredible film. The funniest though was "Pineapple Express". Link to comment
sophie274
I'm a few years behind on these books, but The Looming Tower was a fantastic book (non-fiction, about al-Qaeda, won a Pulitzer in 06 I think). Loved The Kite Runner (also late on that one), Three Cups of Tea (about a man building schools in North Western Pakistan). Reading the Israel Lobby now - very interesting, very controversial book. Also loved Collapse by Jared Diamond. (Sorry for the geeky post). Link to comment
