Building trust

I'm aware that there are multiple answers to this question and that every situation is different, but how did you build trust with your ex in attempt to making things work again?

you can only be honest and consistent in every way you can. trust is a gift, you may either get it or not. it's more of a gut feeling than a rational decision.

well you have to open up your entire life th them, and they have to do the same for you. trust is a gift that has to be earned, good luck.
