DN
I understand why you are embarrassed but remember that everyone who sees you buy them will think you are a hero for doing it - and those who laugh will still think that except they will also be jealous of your intestinal fortitude. NJRon
I make her go to the store and buy me beer the next day... Link to comment
Supa_gurl
I remember as a teen, I would be embarrased to go buy them, I would ask my dad to and he would refuse saying it was too embarrassing for him. I never understood that....at least people would know they were not for him. Ghesh! Even at 32 I kinda hide them under my arm as I am walking to check out. LOL *you are a hero to me too! Lecturer
I don't understand the big deal. It's a product that basically 50% of the population need. I would almost wonder if the act of being embarrased is somewhat sexist... not serious about it, just theorizing that perhaps it is. Sex is still taboo in our society, so purchasing things like condoms might be slightly embarrassing, but being a woman isn't frigging taboo. To me, being embarrased about it, especially women that are embarrsed, are basically being embarrased for being a woman. And a man that's embarrased is basically embarrased to even be associated with being a woman. I suppose this is the nature of my sexist comment.. which would apply to both women and men being sexist against women. Now, I suppose I can admit to teasing my wife when she bought a GIGANTIC COSTCO CONTAINER of tampons Link to comment
agent1607307371
I honestly don't see the problem with it, but also don't understand why she can't get them herself if that's hte case. Link to comment

Jayar
She asks you to go because it's cute and romantic. But the reality is she darn well could go herself. Believe me. ;-) Link to comment

Mavh25
Ooooh if she's ran out, I don't think she'll wanna run to the store leaving a blood trail behind her! Its nice that you go for her, I never have asked my guy to go to get those for me, but I would'nt think twice about it if I needed them and was out... he would'nt care either... but if she made it a habit of running out... thats just a bit weird... redhearts
I know someone who bought em' for the ex ALL THE TIME. I don't think its very nice to make or ask a guy to do that. You should always be stocked, like in that one movie. Buy some tampon boxes and girly stuff all over their bathroom so you have extras! I think the only thing to be embarrassed about is HUGE HEAVY load pads vs. tampons. LOL You think people are judging or something. I don't know. I use to be shy in buying them. But now I'm like oh who cares hahaha. Link to comment
Sad Panda
My boyfriend (ex boyfriend perhaps, see my thread if you feel like dishing out any advice!) did this for me once by his own choice, and it was pretty hilarious. He's Japanese and was asking in the middle of the night through a shop window as they had closed the actual shop. The guy he was talking to was also foreign and had no idea what "tampons" were. There was a line of people behind him too, and he had to say something like "you know, like, when a girl gets that thing, once a month, you know, like" and it took the other guy ages to figure out what he was talking about while the queue of people behind him were just feeling so sorry! I'm actually laughing as I write this, he was so sweet. Link to comment
