Abbygail
I ask because my Father hasn't paid his half of my highschool tuition fee, which is too hefty for me or anyone else to pay at this moment. My colleges are threatening to cancel my applications if I can't get the transcripts in soon, and my high school won't release them because my Dad didn't pay. The only thing I could think of right now is to take the G.E.D this weekend and re-submit my applications that way, since then I wouldn't need the transcripts. However, graduating High School is very important to me and I'd like to go back and finish when possible. Will I still be able to do that in the future? Link to comment
Mythical_Suicide
No you either have one or the other. You can take courses through the college (Just like a GED program) and get your High school diploma.. It's what I did when I was 16. Seems like you either need the money to pay for the transcripts or will just have to reapply later on. Link to comment
Scorpion Fury
Have you talked to your Dad about why he didn't pay? Most colleges put some emphasis on grades when they accept you or don't accept you. I don't know if they would accept a GED. They probably will still want to see your grades. Link to comment
blue69
Talk to the school. Let them know what the problem is and how they can assist you. They might have some solutions available for you. Link to comment
redhearts
Where are you from? I just didn't go to high school at all, took a test and got my HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. Link to comment
unabashed
Is there a fee because it's a private school? A free public education is supposed to be available to anyone in the US. You should be able to get your high school diploma with no cost to you if you live in the United States. Link to comment
thejigsup
Most colleges want a high school diplome, not a GED. If you have a GED , just do a year in a community college and transfer. That seems to work where I'm from. Link to comment
