To call an ex-gf after two years?

Here's some background: Dated my ex-gf for 6 years. We broke up a little over two years ago (because she met another guy) and haven't talked to her since. She used to send text messages every once in a while but I changed my number last year so she doesn't know the new number.

 

I was thinking about calling her to see how everything in her life is going. I am not interested in getting back together with her nor would I if given the chance. Just curious to see how she's doing, I guess since she was such a huge part of my life not too long ago..I've run into her mother a few times since the break up but never asked how she was doing.

 

Any thoughts?

zeitgeist is right: subconsciously, you may still have feelings. 2 years is a long time, but 6 years is even longer.

if you feel the urge to do so, then do it. i also don't see anything wrong with catching up, anyway, you seem confident that you don't want to get back with her..and even if you realize that you still do after the brief conversation, well if she's single and you are too, then there's also nothing wrong. ^__^
