I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend a few times. It was about 6 years ago (mid/late 2002). Should I bother getting an HIV test after such a long time? I don't really want to just assume that I'm okay. I'd like to know for sure. But I figure that I would know by now. I seem to have a pretty strong immune system. I very rarely get sick, maybe once or twice a year. I haven't had any serious illnesses in a long, long time. Link to comment

I had to go to my doctor to get an appointment to get it done. Otherwise I would have had to pay ALOT. I think free clinics might do them? My bf got tested. He didn't complain and it didn't seem like it was a big deal. It's only when getting the tests that it's really nerve wracking even though you know you are clean. Link to comment
