Hi, im about to go to Canada for a year but getting cold feet. I was fine until a week ago then out of the blue ive been feeling down, scared ect. I know i should jump at the chance and felt great about it for the year and a half i saved, planned ect

(it was all planned when i split up with my ex a year and a half ago, thats how i found this forum)

Im def going to go but just feel like i want to cancel everything just now. ](*,)

I'm going to be with family and know that if things dont go well i can come back but i just dont get why this is all negative all of a sudden. It is a big thing and ive not thought anything of it till now even though ive got everything in place. I go on the 6th btw.... PANIC!!

Can anyone help with past experience or just offer some advice.

Thanks guys.

I moved accross canada in June, it's not quite the move you had but i went from the place i grew up in to a province where i knew absolutely no one that i had only visited once. It was a HUGE change for me. If you were to look back at my posts you would see that i was freaking out too. I was so scared of the unknown, of leaving the safe and secure.

I leaped....

and it was the best possible thing that has EVER happened to me. I have grown so much being out here and the best part of it is that I did it all myself.

The first couple weeks were really hard, my way of coping was to get outside in the nature looking at the mountains and journal...staring at the raw power and beauty of the beautiful scenery here in vancouver gave me peace and it was in those times of peace that i renewed my sense of purpose and adventure.

Take some time to remember your goals for why you are making the change, reflect on why you wanted to leave and then take some time to envision what you want in your new life because one of the best parts about a move like this is you can make your life anything you want!!!!

How exciting!!!

*deep breaths*

you will be great!

i know exactly how you feel.... i arranged to go to america for 3 months (i know its not as long) after me and my ex split, but when the time came i was soooo terrified... i cried for like a week and didnt want to go.

but trust me... you will have a blast. its a once in a lifetime experience. i bet by the end you wont want to come home. lifes too short...just go for it and enjoy yourself.

I don't blame you. I live in the South where temperatures are deceit. I wouldn't want to visit that Godforsaken frozen hell either.

Actually I have....several times. It's wonderful. The people are nice. The country is beautiful. You'll have a blast.

lol i was about to get all offended hehe!!!

Ahh, Markham, I grew up there but live out in Vancouver now. I actually miss real winters. It just cracks me up when we get a little bit of snow and the whole of Vancouver shuts down. Anyway, worth visiting Vancouver and B.C. if you like nature.
