this is going to sound ridiculously simple - but, read it over and over until it makes sense:

 

in every relationship - you will either marry the individual, or, you will not.

 

 

everything that happens in between... is simply the natural progression of life to go one way or the other. we will all end up with the right person in due time. but, understand - just because you dated someone for X amount of time or had X amount of fun... in the end, there's 2 ways a relationship can go. and, most of the time, its best if it doesn't go to marriage in the sense that you will learn so much about yourself and your needs and wants... that those problems you have in your current failing relationship will seem trivial when you meet that person made for you.

While I agree with you this is assuming marriage is spending the rest of your life with someone. Which in today's society is becoming more of a rarity.
