desertsoul
I wore my wedding ring almost continuously for a year and a half. Now that it's gone, there's a band of untanned skin where the ring used to be, and my finger is still indented. I wish it was gone already, but instead, I am reminded of everything that's happening when I see that place on my finger. I guess I'm going to be waiting for a while. About how long does it usually take, though? Link to comment
McLovin oo7
Two to three weeks. It depends upon your skin too. use some cream on it. Link to comment
Catdancer
Hey! use a little self tanner to darken up the skin! Link to comment
just M.E.
Mine took months to leave and I can still run my finger over the dent and feel it. Link to comment
desertsoul
Hey! use a little self tanner to darken up the skin! Hmmm, that's not a bad idea. Thanks! Mine took months to leave and I can still run my finger over the dent and feel it. That's kinda what I was afraid of. My finger is pretty well dented. Link to comment
ladyachika
This happened to me too...when I removed my promise/engagement ring after my ex broke up with me, there was a tan line and dent around my finger. It was hard getting accustomed to not wearing the ring anymore too, since I had a tendency to play with it (spinning it around my finger, taking it on and off). So, what I did was I bought a big, gorgeous ring to wear on that finger, that way I don't have to see the dent/tan line to remind me of my ex, and I have the feeling of wearing something on that finger so it doesn't feel so 'empty' Link to comment

It drives me crazy not having anything there to play with! I considered getting a ring to put on that finger, but I don't think that's a good solution for me. I don't want it to complicate dating once I feel ready to start that again ("No, I swear I'm really not married!"). If I'm just going to have to take it off again at that time, I'd rather just wait a while and see if the mark goes away. Link to comment
