Ring marks

Recommended Posts

I wore my wedding ring almost continuously for a year and a half. Now that it's gone, there's a band of untanned skin where the ring used to be, and my finger is still indented.

I wish it was gone already, but instead, I am reminded of everything that's happening when I see that place on my finger. I guess I'm going to be waiting for a while. About how long does it usually take, though?

This happened to me too...when I removed my promise/engagement ring after my ex broke up with me, there was a tan line and dent around my finger.

It was hard getting accustomed to not wearing the ring anymore too, since I had a tendency to play with it (spinning it around my finger, taking it on and off).

So, what I did was I bought a big, gorgeous ring to wear on that finger, that way I don't have to see the dent/tan line to remind me of my ex, and I have the feeling of wearing something on that finger so it doesn't feel so 'empty'

I had those same tendencies. It drives me crazy not having anything there to play with!

I considered getting a ring to put on that finger, but I don't think that's a good solution for me. I don't want it to complicate dating once I feel ready to start that again ("No, I swear I'm really not married!"). If I'm just going to have to take it off again at that time, I'd rather just wait a while and see if the mark goes away.
