Gonna become a pothead

I'm dead serious by the title.

First off, I'm gonna be forced to move with my mom to a little cowtown which is over 20 miles away from the city, and monthly bus fare to get to work is $105 (I'm not kidding). I don't make nearly enough money at my current job to rent a room somewhere closer to work, and humanity hates me and nobody hires me, thus I'm gonna be stuck in a boring town with nothing to do. No women over there, either, so I've decided to simply smoke myself stupid for a long while. I mean, I can't make anything out of myself, and I'm useless, so why not? Since pot is the only thing that truly made me feel good (and have been miserable ever since I stopped smoking it) why not indulge? If it makes me happy, how can it be "bad" for me?

I wanna smoke weed so bad it hurts. I wanna smoke a blunt so big it would make Harold and Kumar tell me to "slow down". I wanna get high and space out for hours. Think about random funny stuff. Enjoy what little happiness there is to be had in this life. I mean, it's a bit taxing on my voice, but my singing sucks anyways (even though singing is the only thing I love more than pot), and I literally sound like a retard when I talk, so I guess it's no big loss (other than trying to find a job where I don't get piss-tested).

I MISS MY WEED!!!

Thats the point, he wants to get baked.

Not so much "baked" as "cooked to the temperature of the sun"

toke it up bro...toke...it...up

but how are you going to get money for it if you dont have a job? atleast where im from weed is expensive.

It's expensive here, too, and really that's all I'm waiting for; a job that doesn't piss-test me that earns more than I'm making now.

That's what I was thinking too...weed isn't too expensive but it does cost money...unless you're growing it out on your mom's property? Busted! lol

Seriously though, find a hobby.

Transit fare for my city would be about $100ish each month as well...now if I move to another town it would cost about $200 to get downtown per month.

C'mon people....instead of joking with him, give him a little compassion. Sorry you have to go through all of this CynicalGuitarist. I am sure with time, and perseverance things will get better. Who knows? If you lay off the smoking your voice may improve and your music career will take off. That would be nice, right? Just have a little faith, and keep your head up.

Enjoy the smoke but don't give up on your dreams either.

This is the time to step it up a gear. How about getting a flatmate or 2 (preferably stoners)? That would cut costs down a bit and give you the independence you need.

Start looking for a better paid job. Update your CV now and send it around. If you don't ask you don't get.

Good luck bro. Enjoy the smoke AND get your life together. You can get high and be active instead of sitting infront of TV all day.

I smoked pot everyday for 16 years and quit about 6 months ago. Quitting is the best thing I've ever done for myself. Pot has cost me all kinds of potential relationships both platonic and love ones, not to mention anywhere from $3000-$4500 a year.

IMHO I would invest the cash you'll spend where you can get a return on it.

You have to open up your mind here. There are other alternatives to solve your problem than smoking weed. How about you use your time to get a degree online so you can get a good job in the city and support yourself. If you've got an internet connection, you can get a degree from anywhere in the world.

Smoking weed just saps your motivation to do anything other than lay around your mother's house and feel sorry for yourself. Put down the weed and start working towards a better future rather than just killing time.

You people don't understand; I have extreme ADHD thus I do poorly in school. I hate school more than anything; sitting on my ass all day (and even more at home) filling out useless homework and taking classes that have nothing to do with what I wanna pursue. College is just veiled slavery to my wandering mind. I'd rather do something physical where I'm actually DOING something other than trying my best to pay attention to some monotonous, middle-aged professor. Of course, weed actually makes me happy, I can't remember anything else making me feel happier than weed did; in fact, I'd say I would've smoked a lot more pot if I had the money back when I was a teenager.

Why would I want to aspire to anything when the best I can get outta it is a cubicle gopher job where I spend from 9 to 5 filling out more useless forms and dreaming of the moment it's time to leave, where at home, I'm stuck with a dull, plain-jane wife and thankless kids? In fact, when I was high, "I could do everything I normally do just fine, I just realized it wasn't worth the effort" - Bill Hicks.

Oh, and Halo games SUCK.

You're looking at life all negative man and using cliches to keep yourself that way. Every joe that works a 9 to 5 didn't go to some school where all their teachers spoke monotone. Nor does every joe come home to a dull wife and snotty kids..All cliches...Sure some people do have a life like that...But thats because they made their life like that.

Maybe you do need a spliff...Haha...Just dont be so hard on your future before it ever has a chance to bloom.

So weed makes you happy when you're on it, but it does nothing for you when you're off it (assuming you're not high right now), and you're left seeming very unhappy. Go do something that can keep you happy.

I haven't been high in over 6 months. It's been pure misery. However, I still remember all the good times I've had when I was high, and it helps a bit remembering how much fun I had.

It's IMPOSSIBLE to find something that could keep me happy. Happiness has always been fleeting or expensive in my case.

Happiness is like that for all...Even the people who you think have it all want something else or something better and it all costs money and it all goes away.

I'm with you on this one. I can completely sympathise. If I could afford to sit around all day and smoke, I would. I've been finding tequila to be my friend as of late, though.

Mmm tequila.

It does seem that way sometimes. The bottle is a friend for me too, but I try to treat it more as someone I would hang out with once in a while but not like a best friend or anything by any means.

To the original poster: I think that you're probably going to smoke up as soon as you find some anyway. That's fine. At least try and maybe find a cool field or hobby to get into in the meantime. Maybe explore music further or take some cool class online. They do seem to have something for everyone these days. You might be quite surprised at what is out there to try out. There are several courses out there that do not involve traditional lecture and homework. It might be worth your time to check it out or get involved more in a hobby, even if you know that it might not lead to a better job. I think your pot smoking could be really enhanced with some extra passion in your life other than drugs if that makes any sense.

Lol, do what I used to do. Go to college, smoke in between classes. Then you're productive.

Only bad thing is sometimes you might oversleep. I woke up at 9:25 for a 9:30 mandatory attendance class. Didn't have time to change so I went to class in green gym shorts and a Scooby Dooby Doo T-shirt. I had to do a lot of explaining.

Can you not get a job within the music industry? Know it sounds pie in the sky. Your passion is singing. Why not try for some session work. I know it's hard and not sure what pay you would get in England it's quite good. I know I used to do session work. Singing is also my biggest passion. I'm sure you have a lovely voice.

I know your finding the non- smoking painful but 6 months is a long time. My friend smoked the stuff most of his adult life. He had a child and gave up and turned on everyone. Talk about paranoid. I can't say I think smoking would help you in the long run but I know each to their own so if you must to relieve the pain then do it just not all the time.

I really hope you get what you are looking for in life and that you can find some inner peace soon.

I know you are suffering and I'm sorry for that.
