Hey yall~

I got a question?=

How do you feel about getting a tattoo of your b/f/g/f's name on your body? Ladies would you do it to ensure a long-distance relationship or would you wait until the two of you can be together and then go as a couple and get them then.

Guys-would you say you will get it done and not do it? Or how does that work?

I am curious to know what you guys think about this?

I stupidly tattooed my ex ex's name on my lower leg. It was my very first tattoo. He did the same, tattooing my name on his arm. We were together for 8 years but ultimately the relationship did end and there I was with his name on me. I had it covered up. I will never do that again.

Here's another story not related to me though.... My cousin was friends with this young girl that had something like 11 guys names on various parts of her body. How disturbing it must be for some guys to see that she took it upon herself to brand the names of so many men on her.

Let me tell you a story. One of my gf's did this when she was 16. She got her bf at the time to do it in her arm. When she was in her 30's she met and married a very weathly and sophisticated business owner and here she was with this crappy tattoo with some guy's intials in her arm she barely remembered. Needless to say she had it lazered off.

Who ever does your tattoo will tell you it's not smart to get a name of a person other than family (ie. Kids, mom etc..) They will recommand not getting a wife or gf, bf, etc.. Me I am trying to find one to have done with my kids names and date of birth

She must have looked like a NASCAR.. The part of the body sponsored by....

I wouldn't get someones named tattooed.

I knew someone who has the names of her husband and three children tattooed on her forearm. Her tattoo is done in Arabic, she's Indian.. But I thought that was cool.

Hi,

My niece had a tattoo of her boyfriends name within a love heart. Cheesy I know. Anyway they split up a couple of months later.

Although she had hers filled in the pain of doing so she admits was not worth it.

I have nothing against Tattoos myself and confess I do have one. I am thinking about getting another of my cats. I would like to preserve them.

Not sure about getting names of GF or BF. A prime example above I think. You never know how long you have with them and if a split is bad who want's a reminder.

Never

My boyfriend and I joked about doing it. Except it wouldn't be names..more like a symbol [ie a bee because I call him Billy Bee] but jokes are all they are. I'd never ever go through with it. Not only because nothing is ever garunteed in life, but I'd hate to have the constant reminder on my body, and have future partners have to stare and constantly be reminded as well of my past.

I think its tacky.

I know most people think differently these days, but I think tattoos are tacky. They look like you got drunk on shore leave. Where I work, at a school, they are severly frowned upon. I don't like them on men or women. I refuse to date a guy with either a piercing or a tat. Just my personal preference.

ok, ok guys I hear you all---warning shots indeed. I mean I thought of all these things and I only have one other tattoo. I was thinking about it but at the same time I wanted it to be a mutual thing. In a lot of instances the realtionships do fail. My step brother has my sister's name on him they have been together for over 16 years and married for 6 and they are not breaking apart anytime soon. SO sometimes it's worth it because when he did it she actually started to take him more serious I guess it depends on the person.

I just want to see if he will actually do it. I will follow you all advice and so not go and get it done.

Thanks

I agree but it all depends on where you get it. Like in the professional realm they are so not a go. I have one and it's on the back of my neck right a above my collar bone but on the back side so you can only see it if I have a ponytail in but other than that my collar covers it and so does my hair. I got that one at 16 and please believe me if I was to get another it will be somewhere hidden. See but his name is Kevin and my brother's name is the same; and intials are KSE, mine is KEC so I wouldn't be dumb enough to get something soooo obvious-of course not
