Well for the first time since the break up, my ex actually went out of her way and contacted me, instead of the other way around. She sent me a message on myspace apologizing for not calling me back last week (long story, don't want to get into the details as to why I had to contact her) and she gave me her new cell phone number and told me to call. I know it's not much and I'm probably just building up false hope, but it really does feel good to be the one getting contacted instead of it being the other way around.

If I read your post right, you contacted her first, and she is just responding. While that can be an indication that there are still feelings there, you have to ask a few questions. First, has she moved on already? Second, did she hurt you in such a way that you even want to allow her back in your life? Third, and very objectively, what are the pros and cons of reopening the contact? I am asking myself these very questions at the moment in my relationship. As many here will attest, even being friends after a breakup can be a very painful and complicated thing.

Well my hopes of getting back together, at least in the near future, have been shattered. She did end up calling me about 10 minutes after I posted this thread, and we talked for almost an hour until she had to go to work. Got some bad news though, she is moving 4 hours away to Virgina to live with her sister in-law,and she is leaving on the 30th. The surprising thing is, it didn't really hurt me when she told me, like I'm upset, but at the same time, I still feel great. I think am just relieved that she will be done with the friends she is leaving behind here (I didn't really like them, thought they were a very bad influence on her) and she will be going up and living with family. She is going to come over and hang out and everything a couple times before she leaves, which I'm happy about, just wish I didn't have to see her leave to another state.

Well she made first contact again today. As soon as she got out of work, ironically as soon as I did as well, she sent me a message asking me what I was up to. I don't know if it's because she knows she leaving and she doesn't want to leave on bad terms or what, but I can't complain, I missed talking to her so much.
