advice on hair PLEASE.

okay so im 21 yrs old and i have never in my life dyed my hair. Its naturally jet black...so never saw much point...i like it..but i dont know if its getting boring..should i dye it??? and if i did.. what would look good on me?? let me post a pic...oh and by the way im new. thanx!

i have naturally black hair as well, if you really want, go brown i guess... but i don't recommend it because you'd have to bleach it. and bleaching is really bad for your hair. my hair was beautiful because i bleached it. (i want it funky and went for purple streaks). it's in horrible shape now.

You can get away with highlights (I wouldn't go blonde unless you want to look like a skunk, but brown or even pink, purple or red would be hot.)

heck no. i love really dark brown/black hair. it's sexy. don't dye it.

Hi, I had a post a week or so ago about almost the same thing...But I went through and dyed my hair. I have had dark dark brown/ almost black hair my whole life and at 28, I wanted to try something new. Even though I may look better with darker hair, sometimes it is good to try something new.....I am in the process of going a light brown/blonde color. Right now my hair is kind of in between red color, which I am starting to think doesnt go well with my complexion.

 

If you do want a change, I recommend going to a good hairdresser that will be honest and tell you your options. Depending on how light you want to go, you might have to go a few times and it can be costly...But it really is fun to see how you might look like with different colors..WHy not try once in your life, right? The you will know whether to ever do it again. Hair grows back out, and you may have to just dye over something if you dont like it, and let your hair grow in....But I think you have to be ready for a change, and right now, sounds like you are just tossing the idea around in your head...

Is that you in the pic? Your hair is gorgeous. I think you could have strings of hair in a shade of brown or red, but I wouldn't dye all of it. Have your hairdresser do it.

I have naturally black hair too.I dyes my hair a lot, but mostly highlights!my hair is also curly so highlights look really good in it. I'd say go with dark blond strips or brown, would be nicer than red imo.

hmm, I think it can be. I have dark brown eyes (seems like black) and I think it really suits my black hair and for example if I get blonde because of the eye color and skin(which is fair but not like blonde skin) I dont really look good! you know what I mean? or I think red strips in black hair is more beautiful when you have black eyes than when you have blue eyes. just my opinion.

You should google and find out if you have cool or warm skin tones...That will make a big difference on what color you want.

If you want a change, buy some clip in extensions in a brown or red shade and put them scattered throughout your hair. No damage
