Bumps on face

Recommended Posts

So I recently started to break out in small red bumps around my hairline on

my forehead. There also a few on my cheeks. I have been using Clearasil to try

to get rid of the bumps, but it reallyyyyy dries out my skin. I think that the

bumps came from so much heat at my job( AC is broken and maybe because

I have been putting Vaseline on my face before i go to sleep. I have stopped

putting on the Vaseline, but now my skin feels very dry.

Does anyone know of some good skin moisturizer specifically for the face? And a

good, but gentle facial cleanser? Thanks!! /B]

Cetephil is very very gentle.....If you use strong cleansers with alcohol, your face oils could get all out of whack, sometimes producing more oil to make up for the dryness. I use all natural organic brands, but cetephil has always worked good. Follow this with a natural light toner and oil-free moisturizer.....

Vaseline on your face? NOOO!! Who in the world suggested that to you? Order some proactive..it will clear up your face and if you buy the entire cleaning system it includes some great moisturizer.

My cousin said I should try that. lol..... I'm not listening to her anymore man lol....I think I will either try Proactiv or Neutragena

I had the same problem; breaking out at mid-30's like a teenager, sometimes. Well, it felt like that, anyway. So I started washing my face with Oil of Olay deep cleansing cloths/scrubs in the shower, OR with Olay facial cleanser. Pat it dry then follow with a wipe of Olay toner using a cotton ball.

Then I put a thin layer of Olay moisturizer with SPF15 and then a thin layer of tinted Clearasil cream (10% benzoyl peroxide). If it feels dry after that I just put a little more Olay moisturizer on it. At night I wash it off with the cleanser and toner, then moisturize with Olay night moisturizer and non-tinted Clearasil.

I am not kidding, my face cleared up in 2 days. Don't know about yours though--but it's worth a shot. I had some pretty nasty (one spot is nasty at my age) breakouts but this cleared it totally and I haven't had one since. I don't have to wear foundation any more and my skin looks great--then I just put on my regular eye makeup (Neutrogena minerals) and maybe a light dusting of Neutrogena mineral powder, and then I move along.

Definitely stop using the Vaseline because that could be the major problem right there!

Also if it's not acne on your face, try some Aveeno anti-itch in the tan & blue tube. I tend to get swimsuit irritation on my shoulders for some nutty reason and that clears it up.

Coconut oil.( I use spectum organic coconut oil at night time. It's a good body moisturizer. Months ago, I bought a tub of it for my face. Wonderful, wonderful stuff! Honestly, it's the best moisturizer ever and least expensive for the amount you get(15 oz). Plus, it smells good without added artificial fragrances and you can add your own essential oils like lavender if you need to. It doesn't have water added to it(aside from what a coconut has, heh) so it won't dry your face out.

Most facial care products have water listed as the first or second ingredient.

Those type of products hydrates your skin temporarily, but then you have to keep reapplying over and over. It’s strange, but I noticed a difference in using those skin products and the coconut oil. I say wow, what a difference!!

Also, my skin hasn't gotten sun burned yet. According to a book I read about coconut, the women who live in the tropics use coconut oil to protect their skin. And some of the modern sun screen lotions have a little bit of coconut in them. The oil has helped fade away those annoying pimple marks I get sometimes. If my skin gets irritated or red, I put it on in the evening and has taken the redness out. I've gotten complements on skin even when I'm not wearing makeup.

So unless you're allergic to coconut, I suggest you give it a try. I found in the hair product location since apparently the oil is good for your hair too.)

Aveeno foam facial cleanser. (It's very gentle and it hasn't dried my face out.)

Sounds like coconut oil could be too oily for skin that has a tendency to break out though. I would think a non-oil based moisturizer. But if you are going to use a moisturizer with oil, I think a natural oil like coconut or JOJOBA would be good. Also, tea tree oil is a great anti bacterial, and I highly recommend it. It can be strong and dry your skin out, so a good way to use it is mix it with Jojoba oil or water it down...
