woebegone
I hear once in a (long) while about someone getting pregnant while using the Pill and condoms. Whaaa? Does the Pill just not work (as is, metabolize correctly) for some people? If so, how can you tell? Also, how often do microscopic leaks happen with condoms? Sorry this just freaks me out! I've been on the Pill for 3.5 years and have never had a condom break (or leak, noticeably..). I'm extremely careful. We even pull out 75% of the time! With a condom on of course. But that doesn't help the pit in my stomach sometimes when I hear about these instances... someone please calm me down. I probably worry too much. Link to comment
kaligrl22
I don't know the exact statistics but I have personally gotten pregnant while on the pill and using condoms. Don't use me as example though. I think I am just very furtile as was my ex boyfriend. Good god we weren't super religious and married. We would of been one of those couples with 18 kids!! Batya33
The only 100% foolproof method is abstinence (or I guess, tubes tied). But, I would think the risk is very small if you are using both methods in the right way (especially the pill). Link to comment
Cardinal
Yep. Short of absitence there is some degree of risk. It puts me at ease to know what my action plan is if pregnancy did occur. If my partner and I develop a plan and I am not comfortable with it, then it is time for me to recognize that I am taking a risk that isn't warranted. i.e. abstinence would be the better choice. I see a lot of people that worry about it. There are reasonable ways around the worry. Link to comment

madmarten
Condoms are very effective when used correctly. The pills is very effective when used correctly. Combine the two and you really have the highest level of protection possible. I think you are fine. Link to comment
